ETHICAL ISSUES FOR IT SECURITY PERSONNEL 2IntroductionIT professionals and consultants have to be guided by prescribed code of conduct intheir line of duty. According to Nemeth (2012), IEEE code of conduct for IT professionalsoutlines various practices that has to be met by all IT consultants and professionals who workfor more than one client. All responsibilities to manage clients system and offer requiredservices are at hands of IT professionals but how they handle one client’s needs should differfrom the other. IEEE code of conduct that guides relationship between an IT consultant and itsclients stipulates that, all IT professionals should act in a manner that suites specific customerand has to be consistent with public interests. In this regard, if an observation has been madeon client A during service delivery and can be useful in client B case, it would be best for theconsultant to use only when client B need arises. This would help in upholding integrity andindependence of the service delivery (Zafar & Clark, 2009). A requirement that works best inscenario A may not work in scenario B because of the difference in nature of the business.IdentificationFirst, Greitzer & Frincke (2010) argues that, IT professionals has to maintain requiredintegrity and service independence when doing their personal judgment. This makes it clearthat, copying of ideas may work but in relation to IEEE standards, integrity and independence ofservice delivery is very important when working for multiple clients. Similarly, privacy oforganization in regard to its operational procedures should not be exposed by IT professionalsowing to the facts that, they are solving problem by implementing technology from anotherorganization without approved copyrights (Davies, Hertig & Gilbride, 2015)AnalyzeThough working with multiple clients helps IT professionals coordinate their activitieswell by learning from various environment, if it has to be done, it has to done when allprocedures and organizational system requirements are in place. The responsibility of keepingwhat service provider has been implemented in other organization may not be ethical if it posesgreat competition to latter organization. Professionally, it would be worthy to implement ideasthat have their origin from other organization because it infringes copyrights code of conduct
