Scope of Project The project is designed for the implementation of a network for a primary school. The componentsthatareinvolvedinthedesigningofthenetworkareforthegood implementation of the network for the primary school. The, again and again, exercise will make the design more specified according to the given requirement and it also increases the project effectiveness. The project design is implemented on the NetSim for the proper implementation that provides simulation according to the user’s requirement. In the end of the project network design, security, IP addressing, and configuration is done according to the requirement of the primary school. The requirement for the Project For the designing of the network NetSim simulation software is used and this is a Boson Network Simulator Application. There a large number of various switches and routers that are available in this software. All the components are arranged in that such way so that all requirements of primary school is successfully and properly achieved. The basic network requirements are as follows: The network must be designed according to the network requirements over the simulator. The router is implemented in the network so that it works properly within the network components properly. The network must be implemented properly so that it can connect 10 Guest user with each other and 50 staff of school at a single point in time. A server must be implemented to provide services for FTP, so the server that is demand from the school side is FTP server The network must be designed over the NetSim software to achieve all network requirements. The school network must have an access point where the wireless user must connect to the network and use the internet connectivity. A protocol is implemented for the guest user that is DHCP so that the guest user must get an IP address for the usage of the network (Fleischmann, Beullens, BLOEMHOF‐ RUWAARD, and Wassenhove, 2001). 3
Design of Network The planning and implementation of the network are starting with the basic design of the network. The function that is performed by the user is done by staff members, network administrator and the network designer etc. #### The network design is basically a blueprint that provides a basic idea that how the network must be implemented over the NetSim simulator. IP Address Scheme The IP addressing of the network is done according to the network requirement. The following table is showing the IP address of the implemented network which includes the three major parts i.e. LAN department, Guest Department, Server Department etc. Department NameSubnet IP AddressSubnet MaskGateway Guest192.168.1.0255.255.255.240192.168.1.1 LAN192.168.2.0255.255.255.192192.168.2.1 Server192.168.3.0255.255.255.252192.168.3.1 The server department has the subnet mask of 255.255.255.252 for a C class IP. This mask will provide four IPs one for the network, last IP for broadcasting and remaining two for the hosts. Classless IP addressing scheme (i.e. CIDR) is used for the server. For the Guest department there are 10 users so the subnet mask of 255.255.255.240 is used whichprovidesIPto14hostsandforLANdepartmentuserssubnetmaskof 255.255.255.192 is used which can provide 63 host IP addresses. 4

Network Topology Diagram Figure1: Network Topology Diagram Above diagram is the implemented diagram for the primary school according to their requirements. The configuration that is done for the designed network is as follows: (Ganesh, Massoulié and Towsley, 2005) 5
Router Configuration The router is used to connect one router to many other network components that share their data in the form of packets and transferred from one node to another. 6

Guest Switch Configuration The software release must not control all of the features documented according to the guest access which comprises of peer mobility and the hierarchical architectural mobility must configure. 8
9
LAN Switch Configuration It is a packet type mainly derived from switching used in Local area network. All switching based methods are crucial that enables sending of traffic to various areas where it is needed. 10

DHCP Configuration IP address configuration is derived from a DHCP based configuration consisting of the subnet mask, DNS server and name of a domain called suffix for a communication-based computer with the network automatic via servers and routers. Security Configuration It is derived as a tool for configuration based on security especially for stand-alone snap-in that is mainly used by people for getting it imported between one or more configuration that is particularly secured in private security database (Donetti, Hurtado, and Munoz, 2005). 12
