Introduction In this annotated bibliography different literature from academic articles have been explored and discussed by focusing on Asset management strategies for water industry. The articles selected have explored different elements of asset management in water supplies utility by examining integrated asset management concepts as well as by discussing asset management in urban pipelines network. Also condition grading in dysfunction indicators in sewer asset management have been investigated along with discussion of asset management in drainage utilities through utilisationofadvancedtechnologieswhichhashelpedtopresentthisbibliographyina comprehensivemannerforbetterunderstandingofassetmanagementstrategiesinwater supplies. The proposed method had an objective to produce sufficient and efficacious assisting techniques to support urban water facilities in taking decision and reconstruction outlining. IAM methodology that was proposed addressed all three outlining and decision phases i.e. strategic, tactical and operational and followed PDCA driven cycle. The framework assessed water systems and the outlined explanations in context to cost, risks and achievement elements with use of numerous standard evaluation tools and archetypes. AWARE- P method that has been proposed incorporated values that are usually considered in IAM and it approached IAM as a management procedure that was based on PDCA and required alignment amid organization’s strategic goals and objectives and definite preferences and course of activities executed. AWARE-P method took into consideration that a networked infrastructure 3
cannot be managed in similar manner as other compilations of physical assets and has an assertive behaviour and on whole do not have finite life. AWARE-P method is prepared to standardized assessment and compares intervention substitutes from performance, cost and risk aspects. Hence it can be concluded that AWARE-P methodology aimed to develop awareness on the need for efficacious infrastructure asset management, changing existing exercises and on improved technical knowledge in water industry so as to offer guidance tool and technique.
