Importance of Integration of Mobile Cloud Computing and Internet of Things

This paper discusses the importance of integrating mobile cloud computing with Internet of Things (IoT) and the issues related to it. It also reviews 10 articles to find out the advantages and disadvantages of integration. The main aim of this research is to state the importance of integration of mobile cloud computing with Internet of Things. The issues related to integration of mobile computing and IoT are also discussed.

1. Introduction
The advancement of the IT sector, mobile cloud computing, and the Internet of Things
have made the work much easier and all the people over the world remains connected. There are
networked sensor that are used to for collecting different types of information from various
applications. These information is sent for processing as well as extracting the appropriate
decisions. The technology of cloud computing is a very efficient solution for processing various
types of data collection and the responds that are required in the real time situations. This paper
states all the importance of integrating the IOT with that of mobile cloud computing.
2. Aim of the Research
The main aim of this research is to state the importance of integration of mobile cloud
computing with Internet of Things. There are many wireless network sensors technologies have
enabled the Internet to involve in the embedded cloud computing. The Internet of Things (IOT)
is becoming most famous physical objects that are used every day. The Internet of Things and
the mobile devices are being connected together for getting advanced services. The main
objective of this research paper is to find out the importance of integration of mobile computing
and Internet of Things. The issues related to integration of mobile computing and IoT are also
discussed.

3. Description of the Proposal
With the advantages of the integration of both the technologies, there are also some
disadvantages and issues that are faced while using. To find out the advantages and
disadvantages of integration, about 10 such articles will be reviewed to get the solution. There
are many architecture and connected technologies that are related with Internet of Things. All the
technologies that are related with the Internet of Things and mobile cloud computing are also
discussed elaborately in this paper.
4. Methodology
According to Botta et al. (2016), the cloud computing and Internet of Things are two
different world that can be integrated together to achieve an independent as well as rapid
evolution. These two technologies are different from each other and their characteristics are
complementary from each other. To obtain particular scenario, researchers have come up with
the idea to integrate both the technologies to get some benefits in some applications.
Internet of Things can be benefitted from unlimited capabilities as well as resource
included in Cloud for compensating the technological constraints. Soldatos et al. (2015) stated
that mobile cloud offers effective solution for the Internet of Things service management as well
as composition for implementing the services and applications that mainly exploits the things or
data produced by the application.
With the integration of the Mobile cloud computing and the Internet of Things, the
mobile cloud gets benefited from Internet of Things by extending the scope that deals with the
things of real world in dynamic as well as distributed way (Guerrero-Ibanez, Zeadally &
Contreras-Castillo, 2015). Integration can also deliver many services in much large number in

real life scenarios. The mobile cloud plays a layer in between the application and the Internet of
Things, simplifying all the complexities as well as functionalities that are important to use in
future. This helps to make the application more developed with more information gathering,
transmission of new challenges, and processing in a multi-cloud environment.
Issues of Integrating Mobile Cloud and IoT
According to Chang, Srirama and Buyya (2017), combining of mobile cloud and the IoT
has made work more personalized with enriched services to all its users. There are few
disadvantages as well that the users face while using the integrated system. The issues are as
follows:
1. Protocol Support- There are different protocols for connecting different things. Among the
protocols, some protocols are supported by gateway device, and some are not. This is an issue in
the integration process of Cloud of Things.
2. Energy Efficiency- There are lot of data communication with the connectivity of cloud and the
IoT for which more power is being consumed (Díaz, Martín & Rubio, 2016). This is a
disadvantage that the user faces while using their devices.
3. Resource Management- The resource allocation is a challenge in the integration of the Cloud
of Things. To decide a particular amount of resource is not possible for a particular IoT.
Depending on the sensor and the reason for which the sensor is used, the resource is allocated.
5. Expected Outcomes
From all the articles that will be reviewed to complete this research paper, a concrete
outcome is expected that shows the importance of using Internet of Things and Mobile Cloud

Computing in daily life. From some of the articles, the details of the technologies that are
associated with IoT and Mobile Cloud can be studied. There are also some issues that are related
with the integration of both technologies, which are also learnt from this research study.
