What is Mobile Device Security?
 Full protection of data on all the devices which are portable and
the particular network connected to all the devices (Andersson,
S.M. and Pettersson 2015).. Devices which are commonly
portable within a particular network involves personal computers,
smartphones as well as tablets.

Challenges or risks
 Risk of App Stores as well as malware
 Risk related to the security of storage
 Risks associated with all the mobile’s OS updates
 Risks in coding

Description of risks
 Risk of App Stores and Malware- Sources possessing with the
ability to cite a rise in several malware within the device of
mobile.
 Risks related to security of storage- Hackers or attackers gaining
access to any particular device by easily requesting for the
encryption key from a particular server.
 Risks associated with all the mobile’s OS updates- Newer
versions of operating systems are becoming greatly resistant
towards high exploitation.
 Risks in coding- Android consisting of several vulnerabilities
capable for enabling remote attackers to access several files.

Importance of the security of
mobile device
Due to the increment in the devices of Internet of Things posing
huge number of challenges there is an increasing requirement for
security for:
 Providing security from any kind of malware
 Securing storage problem
 Protecting from all the challenges associated with the updates of
the operating system of the mobile
 Protecting from challenges related to Security

Securing process
 Securing app stores and malware- Innovative technique of detection of
malware named MassVet. It is used to compare app already submitted with
other apps in the market focusing on all differences with them having same
UI structure and interactions with others (Chen et al. 2015).
 Securing storage- Secure Enclave on iOS 9 providing security hardware
module helping in generating as well as using keys in the hardware chip
without accessing it.
 Securing mobile’s OS updates- Installing latest mobile version of OS.
 Securing coding- Developing secure coding standard.

Conclusion
 Securing devices of mobile is very much important because of
the increasing security challenges. Securing mobile device will be
needing both remediation and identification of a number of
security issues in device’s operating systems.
