2MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY Introduction The technology used for cellular communication is known as mobile technology. Over the past few years, the CDMA or Code division multiple access has changed from time to time. The mobile technology includes the use of the technologies that supports data connectivityaswellasvoicesupportandusesthewirelesssystemstosendradio transmissions (Ng, 2014). The most popular application of these type of technologies is the mobile phone device. There are several types of mobile technologies such as Global system for Mobile or GSM, Code Division Multiple Access or CDMA, Long Term Evolution or LTE and WiMAX. Discussion About mobile technology The mobile technology refers to those technologies which are more or less related to the cellular communication. A platform is used by these technologies that have a number of transmitters to send and receive data at a particular time on a particular channel, this is known asCDMAorCodedivisionmultipleaccess.Inthistechnology, theuserstransmit information through a single frequency. This prevents the frequencies from interfering with each other when more than two sources are present. With time, the channel has increased. The mobile technologies revolving every year and the market as well as the users diverse and complicated. Present generation mobile technologies The mobile technologies nowadays are available in every aspects of our lives such as homes and workplaces. A number of benefits can be enjoyed due to the usability of this technology that it is used in every businesses nowadays. The technology every devices that is
3MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY portable and has a network such as netbook computers, tablets, laptops, smartphones, GPS devices and debit card and wireless payment terminals. A number of technologies can be used by the portable devices such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, 4G, dial up services and virtual private networks. The VPNs provide the private networks with secure access. The dial up connections use the telephone and modems as networking services (Kumar, Sharan, & Devi, 2015). The GPRS, 3G and 4G devices are for the data networking services. The Bluetooth helps to connect two separate devices remotely and the Wi-Fi acts like local network with a limited range. With the innovation of cud technologies in the market, the mobile technologies are getting a boost at homes as well as business for supporting their critical functions as well as provide work and service over the internet (Sheller& Urry, 2014). Advantages of the mobile technologies There are several advantages of mobile technologies such as higher productivity and efficiency of staffs. The flexibility and quality of services provided by the customers, the power to provide payments in a remote way, the power to communicate inside and outside the workplace (Goggin, Ling, & Hjorth, 2013). It also provides better access to modern services and applications. It also provides better networking capabilities. Disadvantages of the mobile technologies There are a number of drawbacks that comes with the use of this technology. The first drawbacks are the costs. With the origination of new devices and technologies, it is often costlier to maintain and purchase them. In short, the maintenance costs are very high. It can also work as a workplace distraction (Rieser, 2013). With the growing number of technology, it can disrupt the focus of the work of a person and the workflow in the business can suffer as a result. It also requires more training needs as the staff needs additional training and

4MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY requirements to understand the technology properly (Mtenzi et al., 2013). Moreover, it also needs more IT security infrastructure to maintain. This is required as the portable devices are more easily susceptible to risks and can compromise the sensitive data present in it. Next generation mobile technologies Nowadays, the internet is mainly made up of 4g network and it provides a lot of speed to transmit information over the channels. This makes going through the internet is a lot more easier. In the upcoming years, the internet will be used mostly by smartphones which will include the external as well as the internal environment. It will utilize various types of information with the availability of inbuilt sensors that will able to exchange information. This will only be possible if the mobile device used by the user will be allowed to exchange the personal information of the user (Poblet, 2013). In this way the devices will be able to predict the user’s behaviour and will be able to predict what the user is interested in. The user behaviour needs to be tracked by the mobile technology to make such an advancement possible. The next generation of mobile devices will monitor the user health as well. It will be able to put in a X ray device into the device that will be able to provide detailed information about where the mobile is pointing it at a particular time (Dyson, Grant, & Hendriks, 2014). Moreover, in the future that is developed write now called as Omnitouch that allows the user to access applications from the plain surface as well as wall, desk, arms and hands. It also comes with an interface that is sensitive to touches making it accessibility a lot easier. Conclusion To conclude the report, it can be stated that the research topic on mobile technologies have been provided conclusively. A brief introduction about the technology has been
5MANAGEMENT OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY provided in the above report. In the discussion section of the report, the different types of technologies have been discussed and the present technologies have been explored. The advantages and disadvantages of the mobile technologies have been evaluated and assessed. In the end, the future use of the mobile technologies have been evaluated and discussed conclusively.
