MOBILE TECHNOLOGIES AND WEIGHT CONTROL IN YOUNG ADULTS1
Responses to Question no. 5
Did the report offer evidence of the Reliability of measure?
It was a report that showed an influencing positive impact of Mobile phone-based application
software, along with an individualized messaging facility in the bodyweight reduction of Young
adults. However, since this was the first trial relevant to the measures as mentioned earlier, along
with considerably limited sample size(Stephens, yager & Allen, 2017), therefore it can be said
that the Reliability, that is, the consistency of the results is not highly adequate. Moreover, it
provides room for further reviews for deriving a consistent outcome.
Did the evidence come from Research sample itself or it is based on other studies?
The study, as mentioned earlier, was the first to deal with the effect of mobile technologies in
bringing a successful diminution in the Bodyweight of the research participants. The research
was carried on a group of college students aged 18-25 years. Their BMI (Body Mass Index) was
obtained within the range of 25-40kg/m2 (Stephens, yager & Allen, 2017). Therefore, the pieces
of evidence obtained in this report has been derived from the sample only, and not from any
other studies or sources.
If Reliability was reported, which estimation method was used?
Being the first and foremost trial, the credibility of the results of this study cannot be negated
entirely. Therefore, the reliable measure, that is, the aspects related to body weight measurement
and its association with advanced cellular technologies, were assessed through various
techniques. The anthropometric estimations were done through the relevant scales and methods.
Appropriate Questionnaires were used to examine the physical activity levels and dietary
