INTRODUCTION
Model of disability referred as the tools or techniques for defining
impairment and for administering a base upon which society and
government can formulate strategies for mitigate disabled people
needs. This presentation is based on the case study of Chris who was
met with an accident 3 years before which left him paralyzed. The
presentation focuses on the model of disability and its application on
the case study.

Model of Disability
According to disability model, disability is referred as the health
condition dealt with through medical professionals. Individuals with
any disability are thought to be distinct to what is abnormal or normal.
The social model of disability states that disability is socially
constructed. It is the outcome of interaction between individuals living
with impairments and the surroundings filled with attitudinal,
communication, physical and social barriers.

As per the provided case study, Charis is a 17-year-old
boy who was involved in car accident which left him
paralyzed. When Chris go outside, he confronts access
barriers to certain venues and the underground stations
and trains do not have access which is stair free. Here,
in this case, the social model helps in recognizing that
this is a problem with stations and trains, not with
Chris and would suggest to add a ramp to the entrance
of train and stations.

CONCLUSION
As per the presentation, it has been concluded that disabled people also
has the equal rights in society. They are capable to claim those rights,
enable to take decisions for own lives on the basis of their informed
and free consent and be the active society members.
