The negative influences of communication technologies result in weakening the
relationships at the expense of the strong ones. It has been found that most of the people who
are spending more amount of time on the internet are liable to lose their contact with the
society in which they are living. It has also been seen that the use of the internet among the
individuals also results in decreasing the chances of visiting the family and their relatives. The
positive effects, on the other hand, were found that the use of the modern communication
technologies among the young aged people helped in increasing their friends and its quality as
well (Dodson, Sterling, & Bennett, 2013). The paper would aim to examine the different types
of relationships and their impact with respect to modern communication technologies in oral
cultures. The research will be done by conducting a survey, which will help in analyzing the
positive and negative aspects of modern communication technologies in the everyday lives of
the individuals.
In the oral culture, the restriction of the words to sound shows both the modes of
expression and also the thought process. The theorem like “You know what you can recall” is
applied to the oral culture. The organized knowledge literates today study that they will be
able to know it and then they can recall it and with the very few exceptions that have been
assembled, which has been made available to them in writing. In the oral cultures, the verbal
memory skill is considered as the valued asset. The way the verbal memory works in the coral
culture is quite different from the past imagined (Ong, 2013). The modern communication has
created a great impact on the oral culture. Culture is basically considered as the set of the
shared values, which the group of people holds. Every culture has some rules and regulations,
which members of those cultures take it for granted and this is not guaranteed that the same

as well. The modern communication technology has various negative aspects of society as
well and the rapidly advancing in modern technology has changed life for the worse in various
ways.
The evolutions in modern communication technology have changed the whole
society in both the positive and negative ways. The laptops, smartphones, TV’s and video
games, distracted the daily life as all these things do not allow people to maintain a friendly
attitude towards each other in the family as in the past. The oral cultures have been affected
due to the enhancement in the communication. Before the enhancement of the modern
communication technologies, the family member uses to sit around the table and play games
together and the family attachment that occurs in watching television together or eating super
together are getting affected due to modernization in the communication technology.
However, the modernization has helped the parent to communicate with their children and also
helped many family members to communicate in an urgent situation. The communication
range has been also magnified because of the enhancement in modern technology. The
communication technology enhancement also helped the students to communicate with the
professors, especially in distance studies. The oral culture depends upon oral thinking, which
can vary from person to person, even if someone belongs from the same category. The
generation passed the culture, which has been carried out by the family members that cultural
values can also be retained even after the modernization of the technologies (Ong, 2013).

The modern communication technology has been unified in 2003 and by the 3
technocrats with the experience of designing the product, developing and manufacturing the
innovative products for communication. The modern technology has enabled the creation of
the myriad of new communication tools, software, and sites. The improvements and the
additions are continuously being made in order to upgrade the technologies for maintaining the
highest quality of the communications. The modern communication involves various devices;
it depends on which device an individual depends. The modern communication technologies
involve the cellular phones, Skype, instant messaging, twitter, television, internet, social
networking, radio and other. The introduction of the cellular phones have helped to continued
the communication process and also the additional text messaging, wireless phone
conversation and the Bluetooth technology has enabled people to send and receive emails,
pictures, and recorded videos and further increased the communications through cell phones
by allowing the users to carry on their conversation from everywhere. Skype enabled the users
to make the phone calls and send messages through the internet. This service also offers the
video calling and allows users to share their activities and actions in the real-time while
speaking. The use of these Skype services requires the need of the broadband connection or
the paid internet connection thus, both the individuals and the private business gets mutually
benefited from these communication tools. The instant messaging services helps the users to
communicate with each other through the internet short messages and the messages get
delivered immediately after the completion of the messages, this faster way of communication
helped people to communicate when they are not able to carry out their conversations through
phone calls. Twitter, Facebook and other are the social networking sites that help people to
share out their present-day feelings and the present activities and actions with various known

and unknown people. This helped to continue the healthy conversations with the unknown
persons and also helps to communicate with friends, relatives staying in far places. The email
services can be both uses through smartphones as well as computer, which helped people to
communicate and also carry on the official conversation from anywhere (Kral, 2014). All
these communication tools have helped to continue the communication process in various
ways and there are ample amount of positive effects on modern communication tools in our
everyday life.
The modern communication tools have helped to continue the education process and
the introduction of internet services has helped in various ways for continuing the present
lifestyles. Although this is the fact, that nowadays children have been more attracted to play
online games with the unknown peoples and through that game they can also communicate
with each other. They are not attracted to play outdoor games and they involve themselves so
much in the virtual world that they have forgotten about the existence of the real world. This
hampered the oral cultures as the oral culture show people to communicate and interact with
each other by visiting their places and not by calling and texting anybody would communicate.
This depends on the individuals how he or she respects his or her oral culture that is by
enjoying and opting all the facilities of the modern communication technology, one can
maintain their oral culture values. The oral cultures showed the responsibilities of participating
in the rituals, which sometimes become too hard for the individual, and then they found out
some ways to communicate at least being a part of those rituals by not being physically
present in the rituals. All these activities create an effect on the oral cultural values of the
individuals.

modern communication tools are used too often in the present lifestyle. Sometimes, it has been
seen that the students are given a certain amount of time for working on certain projects,
which requires the proper research work. But in most of the cases it had been seen that the
students are not doing their research work and on depending on various information site on
internet they, are just completing their project in the last minute time of their submission.
These activities are creating a great effect on the acquisition and proper gaining of
knowledge’s, thus this can be concluded that the students are getting more involved that it is
required in the modern communication tools, which are creating an effect on their career as
well as their learning process. The televisions also have a negative impact as it has been seen
that there are people who involved themselves so much in the virtual cinemas and serials,
which have been seen that all these create an effect on the real life. This increases the
expectations more from real life as they have seen in the virtual life and this hampered their
real life. Sometimes it also is seen that the young and the middle-aged peoples get more
involved in the social networking sites, that they faced a shortage of time for the family
members and also being a part of the family occasion (Goffman, 2017). There are numerous
benefits of modern communication technologies in individual life and the individuals need to
maintain their oral cultures by obtaining all the facilities of modern communication tools
(Rose, 2014).
Therefore, from the above discussion, it can be concluded that the oral culture values
are important for every individual and the often use of the modern communication tools and
getting too much involved in the modern communication technologies has hampered the daily
lifestyle. This enhancement in the communication technologies gives access to everything to

the children, which are not at all required for them and not only this they get more attracted to
the activities, games on the social networking sites. This site allows the children to
communicate with the unknown peoples while playing games. This makes them distracted

levels and this creates an effect on their career and learning process. The students often depend
on the internet than the research work from the outside source for completing their project
work. The young people’s gets attracted to show off their daily activities and the details of
their daily activities in the social networking sites and in communicating with the known and
the unknown friends. This enables them to live in the virtual world than staying in the real
world, which affects their present lifestyles. Thus, the negative impact of modern
communication technologies is creating effects on the oral cultures of every individual.
