Modern Slavery Act
The Modern Slavery Act has been proposed for the
purpose of the identifying the issues like human
trafficking and slavery (Gold, Trautrims and Trodd
2015)
The Introduction of Modern Slavery Act by
Australian Federal Government enables
transparency and improved workplace
effectiveness.
The Advisory Committee and CEO of companies
with the support of Federal Government Australia
made sure that the companies abide by the rules
and regulations set by the Act.

Aim
Slavery has always been a major issue in
Australia where migrant people and young
children are forced to work with little or no pay
(Siebert and Martin 2016).
The Modern Slavery Act helps in preventing
slavery and human trafficking issues identified
within the supply chain
It will improve the transparency and openness
within workplace and promote a diversified
workplace too
The aim is to make the companies maintain the
policies and comply with the laws and rules to
prevent human trafficking and slavery.
