Introduction
Organisation behaviour management is the application of the behavioural principles to
the individuals and to the groups within the business, government, industry and the human
service setting. It is seen as the intersection which is between behavioural science and the
improvement within the organisational environment. It is important for the employed to
participate and behave well within the organisation. Also, it is important for the organisation to
change themselves according to the needs and requirements of the market and the employees
(Hassan, Zhang, and Liu, 2021). The company selected within this report is Sainsbury, it is the
second largest chain of supermarket which was founded in the year 1869 and it is operating in
several countries. Company is dealing in the products and services like forecourt shop,
hypermarket and convenience and the superstore. There are about 180,000 employees working in
the company currently. One of the organisation culture which is maintained within the company
is positive as their managers are friendly and it helps in achievement of the company goals and
objectives. This develops positive working environment among people and resulting in
achievement of company goals. Further, the purpose of company is helping everyone in eating
better, to raise the awareness and drive the behavioural change. This helps the company in
creating positive working environment and resulting in satisfying customers.
Company is changing their scenario by making changes in their cost and programmes.
Due to the time of covid 19 pandemic, Sainsbury has taken certain changes within their
organisation (Usman, Ali, and Babalola, 2021). They are focusing on cost saving programmes
which can helps in creating their profits and also, they are making new innovations and reducing
complexities to the company. Further, company is shifting towards the online sales and digital
marketing of their products and services after the pandemic.
The organisational theory which is being used in the given report is Classical
organisation theory, in this writer says organisation as a machine and as the component of
machine. In this it is said that efficiency of company can be increased through making of
employee efficient in performing their job role. This is done through coordination of the
activities. That is why this theory is giving the streams that is administrative management and
scientific management (Chang, and Hung, 2021). Here are some pillars of the this theory is
division of labour, structure, scalar and functional process.
