1.1. Problem Statement
In the growing era of fierce competition within the Australian tourism industry, several
experts have identified that several challenges are faced in the area of human resource
management (Du Plessis, Douangphichit and Dodd 2015). Such issues include high employee
turnover due to poor motivation of employees in workplace because of inadequate benefits, low
compensation rates, poor employee morale and unsuitable working conditions that requires to be
addressed for success of the hospitality business.
1.2. Research Objectives
The objectives of the current research that are to be attained through successful
accomplishment of the study are indicated below:
To analyse the motivation level of employees working within the Australian tourism
industry
To evaluate the ways in which lower and higher employee level needs affects motivation
of employees
To investigate the major motivation factors for employees working within the hospitality
business that encourages their further growth in the industry
