Mental skill plays an important role towards performance of task. With respect to the
strength based gym exercises like weightlifting, motivation play an important role. This is
because if an individual is motivated and inspired then it would easy for him to perform fitness
and physical activities. This report will discuss about the motivation, its types and role in respect
to general and specific physical performance.

Motivation is one of the major mental skill that is related with the inner desired to assist
an individual in taking action (Douglas, 2018). It can be defined as actions that is taken by an
individual to achieve the desired outcome.

In the field of fitness and exercises motivation play and important role in terms of
inspiring the clients and the individual to take initiate towards the good health. Motivation is the
core and crucial aspect with respect to fitness industry and in weightlifting. The motivation to
remain fit and healthy and good health would initiate an individual to take appropriate steps so
that its health condition will be improve. In case of the lack of motivation with regard to the
weight lifting no individual would be able to make performance of any physical activity. As
weight lifting is one of the major physical exercise which would if assisted with the motivation
then it will lead to play an important role in terms of easiness in respect to performance of the
task.

There are various factors of motivations but it majorly includes the two factors i.e.
internal and external factors which may include the purpose of task, appreciation, pride, open
