Mount Everest
Mount Everest is one of the highest peak in the world and is 8850 meters from seal level.
It is one of the most preferred destination for climber’s adventure seekers. In Sanskrit and
Nepali, it is also known as Sagarmatha which means peak of heaven (About Mount Everest,
2020). The fact, that it is the highest point on earth surface was not known by everyone until
1852, when governmental survey of India established this fact. It is made up of multiple layers of
rocks that are folded back upon themselves. Glaciers of snow covers Mount Everest to its base.
Whenever, I visit Sagarmatha view of Mount Everest covered in snow is mesmerizing and
beautiful. Due to snow, temperature at this point is always low zero degree Celsius. Warmest
temperature at this peak can be -19 degree Celsius and lowest temperature at this peak can be -60
degree Celsius. Climbers who love to climb this highest peak always have a risk of frostbite.
However, personally I have never climbed Mount Everest, so I have never experienced frostbite,
but there is no doubt that this place is extremely cold. Most of the tourist who visit Sagarmatha
mostly visit base camp of Mount Everest which is also known as Namche Bazar and Sagarmatha
national park. This peak is so tall that it is incapable of supporting human occupation but below
valley mountain, which is Namche Bazar, Sagarmatha national park are capable of human
occupation. Most of the people living at this place speak Tibetan language. This Namche bazar is
a small and a cultural town where different culture people live. I have visited Namche bazar
several times. Even in the month of May this place was very cold. But this bazaar provided me
with a unique experience in Himalayas. I had personally experienced that from this bazaar we
can get a great view of Mount Everest. Other than this, I have also visited Sagarmatha national
park twice with family. I found this national park quite unique as I was able to see various kinds
of unique species like snow leopard, lesser panda. Not only this, Sagarmatha national park also
provides beautiful view of mountains, glaciers, deep valley. This park also has a view point
named as Everest view point, where we need to purchase tickets to get a clear and beautiful view
of Mount Everest. Temperature at both Sagarmatha national park and Namche bazar is extremely
cold but both the places provide beautiful view of Mount Everest. Localities of this place provide
excellent hospitality service to tourist who visit this place as they see them as god and worship
them as god. The main livelihood of these people is climbing expedition, tourism including hotel
business as well.
