The ethical dilemma faced by James is whether he should disclose the weakness of the
employees to the vice president of the company or not. Chirs MacDonald's methodology will
be used for analyzing and resolving the dilemma.
Recognition of the moral dimension
The code of ethics can assist to provide direction in carrying out an ethical decision.
Priorities under the ASC code of professional conduct states that James should endeavor of
preserving the confidentiality of the information. James should advise employers and clients
in an appropriate manner in order to avoid any conflicts. Social implications under ASC code
of professional conduct that James should respect and consider the privacy of the
employees. The employees should be treated fairly by disclosing their weakness (Agle,
2014).
Values from the ACS Code of Ethics
James should consider shared values of the ACS code of ethics while making the decision.
The three significant values are Honesty, fairness, and respect.
Honesty
An individual should be honest while representing his or skills and knowledge. James should
also be very much honest while carrying out his duty. James was being advised that the
information collected from interviews should remain private. Thus, James should be honest
towards his profession anyone (Allwood and Selart, 2010).
Primacy of public interest
An individual has to place the interests and priorities of public above those of business,
personal or sectional interests. James should also keep this in mind that the interests and
priorities of the employees should be taken into account. James should preserve the security
and integrity of others.
Professionalism
An individual should increase the integrity of the community and respect all the members.
James should carry out his duty in an appropriate manner without violating any ethical rules
and regulations. James should know what steps need to be taken and at what time.
