Scanning Techniques –MRI

This presentation provides an overview of MRI or Magnetic Resonance Imaging, a scanning technique used for detection of cysts, tumors and other anomalies. It covers the historical background, development, components, limitations and ways in which MRI is used today. Techniques involved in MRI include strong magnetic fields, radio waves, magnetic field gradients resulting in generation of images of the organs. Hospitals often use MRI for the detection of extensive damage in cases of traumatic injury. However, MRI becomes a less preferred method due to its limitations.
