Coursework
Leadership skills are recognised key attributes for public health
practitioners, who are required to work collaboratively in an increasingly
complex professional landscape in order to successfully achieve health
improvement. These skills have been explored in this module and applied
within the context of change management and partnership working. The
assessment for this module comprises a written piece of coursework that
draws upon this learning.

Guidelines
Choose one of the case studies in Appendix 1 and apply your learning
from this module to critically analyse your selected case study.
Additionally, you will also reflectively evaluate your personal leadership
skills.

Your assessment should, in relation to your chosen case study, include:
A critical appraisal of leadership theory and skills relevant to public
health practice (Learning Outcome 1).
A critical analysis of the processes and potential impact of
partnership working, relating this to relevant theory and approaches
(Learning Outcome 2).
An examination of issues relating to leading and managing change,
including critical discussion of relevant change management theory
(Learning Outcome 3).
A critical examination of the role of partnership working in public
health and strategies for partnership and public involvement
(Learning Outcome 4).

passage (approx. 400 words) in which you identify and analyse your
personal leadership strengths and areas for development (Learning
Outcome 1). This section should draw on examples from your professional
practice and be underpinned by relevant theory. Guidance on Reflective
Writing will be given during a tutorial. See also the RGU Study Skills
Guide on 'Reflective Thinking and Writing'.

Your coursework must be supported throughout by appropriate references
and research evidence.

Word Limit: 3,000 words
Marking will stop at the word limit.

Submission Date: by 12 NOON on Friday 6th August 2021.
