INTRODUCTIONPrinters are required in every organisation's workplace as they make printing ofdocuments easy. Multifunctional printers are the one which integrates multiple devices in onedevice. The office in which I work requires to purchase new printers. Manager of the officehave heard that multifunction printer would be a great option for office purpose. Manager wantsme to research and investigate which printer would fit in the office and fulfil al the requirements.Printer must be able to print colour print and black and white print. Difference between LEDprinter and laser printer has been evaluated in the report to choose which one would be best.TASK Functions of MFP and their sustainabilityMultifunction printers supports in providing centralized management of documents inthe large office workplace (Mason and Luke, 2013). These printers are combination of devicessuch as email, fax, printer, scanners and photocopiers. Multifunction printers are sustainablebecause they have following characteristics : Print feature function such as availability of network print. Scanning featureFax featureCopy feature and document storageType of multifunctional printers are LED printers, laser printers and inkjet printers. Allthese printers are suitable for office but there are some differences like cost and size whichmakes them useful for my office. Difference between LED printers and laser printer is asfollows: LED printers are light emitting diode printer. These printers uses toners. Both of theseprinter are similar. The single difference between LED and laser printer is that laser printersrequires a source of light for melting toner. Whereas LED printers uses LED light series formelting toner. Both of these printer are similar. CostLight emitting diode printer are less costly because they use simple LED array at thetime manufacturing (Mullins, Bertolatti and Mead-Hunter, 2013). On the other hand laserprinters use simple laser beam with various moving parts. Thus these element make lasersprinters are very expensive as compared to LED ones. 1
