Introduction:
Midwestern city is a small town in Bayton which consists of around 30,000 people.
For around 15 years the town has been declined and due to which a telecommunication
consultant has proposed a Municipal Wi-Fi network for the town. According to the consultant
this implementation will be bringing a spark for redevelopment along with which it would
also be bringing a business to the town. This report mainly evaluates the proposal by the
telecommunication company.
Discussion:
Municipal Wi-Fi network for sparking the investments:
The telecommunication company would be providing a citywide network. This would
be done by providing the broadband of municipality by the use of Wi-Fi in all the municipal
areas by deployment of the wireless mesh network. The municipal network would be helping
in creating more jobs by ensuring that the business is fast, affordable and reliable. This
network would also be helping in the improvement of productivity of the business that are
existing in the downtown. Along with this the network would also be attracting new business
to the community which would be initially allowing the individuals to work from home more
effectively (Girth, 2014). This would also be supporting the advanced healthcare systems,
strengthen the markets of local housings and would also represent the long term social
investments in the form of better connected schools and the libraries. This would help the
town in creating millions of dollars in the savings of the town which can be utilised by the
town for the purpose of improving the local economy (Walravens, 2012). The municipal
network can help in various ways some of those includes the:
