in Egypt in 3rd century BC. At that time it was in the possession of the elitists who wanted to
seclude the rest of the people to visit. Only the learned people had the right to access
antiquity (Alberti et al., 2017). However, in course of time the purpose and objective has
been going into a transformation which in result change the vision of museums. Traditionally,
the role of the museums was to collect and preserve the historical artefacts and restore the
glory of the past in order to give pleasure and enjoyment to people. Despite of this shallow
and restricted idea in recent times museums become a driving tool to influence the society in
different aspects. More liberal and collective involvement introduced by the museums now
transcended definition into a wider approach which can create benefits for the society. In
recent times, museums are associated with a series of different kinds of activities besides
preserving the past (Filippoupoliti & Sylaiou, 2015). Activities like confluence of people
belong to diverse cultures, in education and socialisation, impact on health care and the
traditional practise of collecting artefacts all are considered to be a part of museum dynamics.
Hence, the articles related to this topic are trying to establish an intellectual foundation
behind the diverse activities of museum and wants to set up a pragmatic image of museum in
present society.

society. In respect to this, the shared value and moral ethics of both the components help each
other to build an intellectual foundation of history of the society (Xanthoudaki, 2015).
The argument of Hein (2018) was further connected museum and education. In his words,
museum has been identified as a tool of socialisation. In course establishing museum as a
driving force of socialisation, education has played a very significant role. By teaching
people about the history and evolution of civilisation, museums directly or indirectly supplies
bulk of information through which people become enlightened about different cultures and
get close to each other (Franklin & Sansom, 2018). This kind of socialisation method can
only be possible through museums.
Furthermore, the recent studies have revealed a new trend in the discourses of museums
which is associated with the health care facilities. Kenning (2016) has argued that in the 21st
century there is a growing trend among psychologists and doctors to conduct an art
therapy. It is particularly developed for the dementia patients and empirical evidences
proved that it brings more pleasure and comfort for the dementia patients through the
glimpse of museum (Levin, 2015).
Besides this the TEDxOxBridge (2016) delivers the traditional characteristic of museum that
it reveals the story of the past. There is no argument about the credibility of museum as a
teacher or guide to teach about age old tradition or history. Kids can get a glance of their
heritage and can set up a social understanding (Williams, 2015).

The poster is primarily focused on the role of Museums in society and how far museums do
impact on the traits of society. In response to this, it is imperative to prepare a pictorial
reflection of various attributes of Museums in order to get a clear perspective of the
discussion.
Therefore, I will go for a poster template in order to construct my poster. The poster will be
incorporated into a PowerPoint presentation slide for future use.
Hence, the poster will be started with a introductory part where the main arguments of the
discussion will be reflected. The introduction part will be brief and strictly aligned with the
topic.
After that the main discussion will take place where the argument will address different social
aspects of museums and the way museums becomes an influential part of the society. The
poster also attaches a conclusion and a reference list as well.
