Who inspired you to get into music?
Music was something, to which I had generated a taste and likeness since my childhood. I belong
from a very musical family, and both my parents are related and involved in the filed of music.
Therefore, I believe, it was much obvious that I would grow a likeness towards the same as well.
I had always had a likeness towards music; however, it was my father, who had inspired me to
get into this field. My father, himself practices music, he is a guitarist and an amazing singer. My
father often goes out for shows. He essentially practices guitar, and his singing skills are known
to a very few people. He used to make me sit with him, whenever he used to practice vocal. My
father was my first music teacher ever and whatever I have known about music, and techniques,
it was he, who had taught me. My mother also played a great role in my taste of music, and in
my music career, however, it was solely my father who had inspired me to get into this filed.
What is your favorite genre and favorite musician and song of all times?
My favorite genre is Ballad. A ballad is the genre of music that tells a story. It is dramatic. And
the best aspect of a ballad is its relatable. As it tells a story, therefore, it has many shades and
many aspects. A story can be funny, romantic, melodramatic, sorrowful, life retelling. Therefore,
I always prefer to listen ballads.
My favorite musician is Freddie Mercury. Though he is famously, known for his band, Queen,
which is Rock, but the songs root from Ballad. All of his songs, have a story in itself, and the
music composition, that each of his song has go, are amazingly well composed. All the songs
have amazing experiments within themselves. The higher and lower note that are used in each of
these songs, are well measured and most important aspect of his compositions are, that they
completely compliment the lyrics or the stories that the songs retell. The lyrics and the words are

the one of the important aspects of any song, and the other important aspect is the composition,
therefore, if the composition do not compliment the lyrics, then the significance that each of the
words want to uphold will be lost, and the song would lose its meaning, therefore Freddie has
justified to all of the songs, rather, he has provided the world certain and land marks and some
amazing songs, with enriched lyrics and enriched meanings.
My most favorite Freddie Mercury song is Bohemian Rhapsody. The songs talk about the life of
Freddie, and the composition is one of the best compositions of all time. The higher and the
lower notes, the higher and the lower riffs are well measured, and well timed, and the
composition amazingly suits the lyrics. It is the best work of Freddie and is one of the best
compositions of all time. No other song has as many shades and versatility in its composition, as
the song holds.
If you can change anything about today’s music what would it be and why?
The recent songs, that are being made, are not as well composed as of the songs of previous
times. Also, the lyrics or the wordings of the current songs are much commercial and colloquial.
The songs are not enriched, neither lyrically nor compositionally. The songs lack an essence, and
do not provide oneself with a thought or a perspective, though not all songs are like this, but
most of the ballads, made today are very normal. However, they are made upon our every day
life, but the lyrics are very commercial and colloquial. Music is another way of conveying
philosophy, in a very easy way to reach to the audience. The songs of recent times, do reach to
the audience, but they do not touch them and do not leave a mark. They are easily forgettable or
easily replaceable by another song, of similar sense and music. Therefore, I would like to change
the lyrical style of today’s songs. I personally believe, that a song makes people to think and gain
new perspectives, and that can be only done through the lyrics of the songs.

Personal Observation:
Recently, while preparing for a concert, I had come across live music recording session. We
were preparing for a tribute to the greatest rock bands of all time. We had chosen, Led Zeppelin,
The Beatles, Pink Floyd and Queen. All these bands are the mist famous and the most popular
rock bands of all times. All these bands have their orientation and their own contribution to the
world of rock music. Therefore, our aim was to present the world the age old, evergreen music,
in a different flavor, and by putting their best works together. We had taken all of their best
compositions, and their most popular and commercial works, and had experimented them with a
ballad tone, using violins and piano. Only Queen had rigorously used Piano in all of their songs,
but the other bands, and Led Zeppelin, had essentially stuck to guitar, especially, base.
Therefore, we wanted to explore and experiment their music in a different tone and different
sense. We were very much aware of the emotion that these songs had delivered and the emotion
of the people with these songs, therefore, we wanted to deliver the same sense, but in a different
tone and sense. While the remaking of these songs I came across different opinions and different
perspectives that my partners and my friends held. Each of them had different perspectives, and
different way of looking at the songs, therefore, the outcome, or the new approach each of these
songs held, were amazing, and a treat to the ears. Moreover, as we were working upon the best
songs of all the times, we were being very cautious about the outcome, therefore, each of the
songs had taken a long time to get added with a news flavor.

While we were making the music, I indulged in a conversation with our base guitarist, who
belong from a complete different cultural background, and none in his family were ever involved

in music. Therefore, it was more of an interview, from my end, rather a conversation, and I had
asked him many questions.
Upon being asked about his favorite musician, he said that his favorite was Jimmy Page, who
was the base guitarist and the prime key board player of Led Zeppelin. He said that the way
Jimmy Page, had done justice to the Blue genre, heavy metal and hard rock is incomparable. He
drew his inspiration from him.
When I asked him about his favorite song of Led Zeppelin, he mentioned right away, “She is
buying a stairway to heaven”, which is indeed one of the best compositions of Led Zeppelin and
one of the best songs ever. The riffs used in this particular song, is unthinkable and no one
cannot do it any better.
When I asked him about how does he feel about today’s rock bands and today’s musicians, he
said, according to him, a very few musicians can actually qualify for a musician as most of the
songs that are sung and most of the compositions that are made today, are computerized. He is
completely opposed to the usage of auto tunes. He said a song must have the human touch which
is getting lost in today’s music.
