The national Museum of Women of arts is located in Washington D C that is dedicated
towards celebration of the achievements of the women in performing, visual and literary arts.
The museum was founded in 1987 that had the collection of around 4500 paintings, decorative
art, paper works, and sculptures (washington.org). The museum includes the exemplary art
works of legendary women who were considered the legends of their time in field of arts.
In the museum, there were various exemplary works of the artists. One of the adorable of
all paintings that arouse intense human emotions was the painting of a mother and daughter that
brought down immense love emotions of motherhood for a spectator. In the painting, a beautiful
mother was looking at her innocent child and the child was looking up at her with innocence.
Such as spectacular painting was created by the Nobel woman Sofnisba anguissola who was one
of the great painters of southern Europe. The painter was good at making the child portraits with
great intricacy. Another great painter in the American history was Mary Cassatt, an American
woman who defied all the customs to be one of the greatest painters of all time (Ibrahim,
Baloğlu and Kesici). In one of the paintings of Mary cassatt painted beautifully a mother who
is making his child bath in the tub filled with water. She was one of the few artists who are
known for her bold move. Besides , these paintings, some of 21st century paintings was created
by one of the famous artists O’keaffe. The artist O’ keaffe was good at abstract paintings that
had dearly caught the attention of her audience (Kossek and Wu).
In the museum, all the paintings and sculptures told some stories of the past lives of these
exemplary women artists who defied customs to create such alluring sculptures and interesting
paintings. Every painting and sculpture told a story that was attractive in its own way. The
museum itself gives the vibes of great achievement of women that were brought to justice by the
creators of the museum. There is a sense of serenity and composure felt after seeing beautiful
and breathtaking sculptures and paintings lined up in an attractive manner. In the 21st century,
another important painter was Alice Hartigan who painted abstract paintings that conveyed deep
meanings to the spectators. In the efforts to recognize her paintings, she changed her name from
Alice to George Hartigan, as she believed that work would be more recognizable with the male’s
name (Guhn and Schonert-Reichl).
Although every experiences at the museum was great mesmerizing but one such
experience was seeing a self-portrait of an artist who was a keen observer of herself or perhaps
