1English for Specific Purpose Introduction: According to the second case scenario it has been observed that there is a group of marketing manager of Hyundai motor company who wants to visit Australia for the purpose of promoting their brand as well as receiving more opportunities in the international platform. As we all know English is an international language to communicate with each other across the world, however the selected candidates has the moderate knowledge about English. Thus, being an ESP course organizer it is my responsibility to schedule an ESP course of less than two week duration with the purpose to provide a brief idea about fundamental English and its usage, which will help them to communicate effectively in English. What is ESP? English for specific Purpose (ESP) stands to act like a subset of the language English which is formally known as the Foreign Language or Second Language. The fundamental purpose to introduce this course is to educate the employed individuals about the usage of English based of the particular knowledge as per their requirement. In order to provide facility to the professionals this ESP course has offered to educate employs by their profession, such as there are separate courses for the medial professional, tourism field, scientific field as well as in the technical field. According to several studies it has been noticed that one of the major benefit of the course ESP is that, central focus of this course is to prepare their students for specific purpose by concentrating on their grammar, vocabulary as well as their spoken English skills. Thus, while considering the case scenario it has be stated that since, the selected employ does not have much knowledge in English, this course will effectively help them to gain knowledge about the spoken English as well as they will get to know the tricks by which they can attract the foreigner by their communication skills. From the analysis it has been noticed that rather than being a general English learning courses the ESP has focused more on the specific purpose by improving the specking skills of an individual. Hence, followed by the above aspects the in the next section this report will continue with the Need Assessment and Discourse Assessment of the ESP course. Need Assessment: Need assessment is a method by which it analyses the need or necessity of any particular aspect which can improve the organizational profits and effectiveness. Thus, in order to determine the necessity of the ESP course in the case scenario a need assessment has been conducted. Initially, followed by a detail investigation of the case scenario it has been observed that there is a significant crisis of English skills in the employees of the Hyundai Motor Company. Whereas for the sake of the international event the employees needs to learn English in less than 2 weeks. Thus, considering this situation as well as analyzing the features of ESP course it has been decided that the conduction of an ESP course can help to get over from this crisis. After identifying the action plan next responsibility is to determine the gap which needs to be covered by the identified action plan. Thus, after analyzing the scenario I have noticed that the Hyundai managers has moderate knowledge on English and their main purpose to learn English is to have a great performance on the international event as well as they need to learn English in order to communicate with the Australian people. Thus, it has been identified that the primary focus of the ESP course is to educate the managers about how to professionally communicate with the international stakeholders and other individuals present in the international event as well as this course must focus on the survival English of the managers which will help them to communicate with the other companion during the time of Australian tour. From this need assessment I have identified

Based on the above analysis I have decided to design an ESP course which will effectively cover all the required aspects in order to enhance the English of the selected manager for their international tour and event. Course Design: From the analysis one of the most significant crisis which has been observed that, the problem related to the pronunciation as well as the specking ability. Thus, the below mentioned course has mainly focused on these two aspects. WEEK 1: (Will be focused on the reading and grammatical skills as well as it will show concern about the professional communication skills) First halfSecond Half Day 1: An introduction section will be conducted, as well as a group discussion will be held in order to identify the individual’s problems. It will be a reading session in order to investigate the reading qualities of each manager. Day2:Inthissessionwillbe initiatedwiththetrainingon grammar and vocabulary skills. In this session it will check what they have learned from the previous session, by conducting a test on grammar and vocabulary. Day 3: In this session it will focus on the specking skills. It will tech how to talk fluently in English using simple words. Followed by the above session in the second half a personalinterviewwillbeconductedinorderto monitor their one to one English speaking skills. Day6:Thelastsessionwillbe conducted in order to check their leaningsduringthewholeESP course. Here the managers will individually express their experience during the ESP course. The above course has been structured in such way that it has covered every aspects which is essential in order to enhance the English skills of the managers of Hyundai. Considering the first week, the sessions has been organized in such way that it can effectively determine the individual’s weak areas in English, based on those identification it will conduct a training session in which it will taught the fundamental English knowledge as well as it also consist daily evaluation of those skills by the examinations. The sessions also includes the group discussion and debate, which will surely help the managers to improve their English communication skills. In the last segment of the week 1 session it has been structured to conduct a seminar in which individual will present a presentation on their preferable topics. Week 2 has been structured in order to mainly focus on the communication skills which will help the managers to effectively communicate with the people of Australia during the time of tour. Thus, in this session it has incorporated the training in order to educate the employ about the tricks and tactics by which they can have effective communication with the

Followed by the above trainings lastly, this course will end by investigating their knowledge through a test and later it has conducted a session in which the manager will express their opinions about the course as well as they will share their experience gathered during the whole ESP course. Thus, followed by the above course structure it can be assumed that the managers will surely get significant benefits from the ESP course as the structure of this course has covered all the essential aspects which needs to be taught in order to get the enhancement in the English skills.
