Several vendors exist that offer enterprise resource planning solutions (ERP). The
objective for any organization implementing an ERP solution is to find the best option that
can manage majority of their needs. The following report summarizes the features of
NetSuite ERP software. The software usually combines all aspects of an operation such as;
development, sales and marketing, manufacturing and product development in a single
application, database and user interface It highlights the business functions that the platform

Introduction
Enterprise resource planning is a business process management software that allows a
firm to implement a system made of integrated applications to handle their operations and
automates numerous back office functions that relate to technology, human resources and
services (Themistocleous, Irani, & O’Keefe 2011). Several ERP software vendors exist that
organizations can select depending on their needs and size. Key among these is NetSuite an
ERP software offered by Oracle Company.
NetSuite’s Business Functions
NetSuite supports several business functions including; offering an integrated cloud
based platform of financials/ERP and Omni channel commerce software features. The
software also provides a robust development platform that is easy to customize and integrate
(Oracle NetSuite, 2018). NetSuite’s Suite Commerce allows an organization to control their
interactions with consumers and other business directly via its e-commerce cloud platform.
Moreover, NetSuite CRM+ offers powerful capabilities such as marketing automation, sales
force automation, flexible customization and customer support all in a unified cloud CRM
solution. . The platform is robust in all its integration points including system-to-system such
as ERP to the running HRMS or CRM. Module-to-system, a good example is the ERP
payroll to the users’ existing HRMs and file transfer functionalities. Its flexible integrating
capabilities allows it to work with existing infrastructure.
NetSuite’s Generalist Type
NetSuite is a generalist type of ERP solution. This means that the software is not
developed to function only under a specific industry rather its products adapt to processes in
several industries (Oracle NetSuite, 2018). The platform offers robust integration and
customization solutions that fit several industry needs. Its offers range from ecommerce,
order management, financials, CRM, inventory and real time business intelligence. The

generalist feature of the software allows it to cover a large market. NetSuite is suited for both
small businesses aiming to grow big and large organizations trying to appear small. It allows
its users to operate at the speed of current business trends.
NetSuite’s Unique Features
NetSuite has several unique features that makes it stand out compared to the other
ERP solutions. The platform is the industry’s first and only solution offering end to end cloud
service resource planning. This allows users to run end to end business activities for the entire
firm since it unifies professional services automation (PSA), ERP/financials and CRM into
one platform. Furthermore, the software offers a more comprehensive real time picture of the
organization through its reports, insights and analytics. Also, the solution contains role-based
KPIs and dashboards allowing users to gain real-time insights hence allowing them to make
effective data-driven decisions on their performance (Oracle NetSuite, 2018). NetSuite
solution generates invoices efficiently and accurately, decreasing account receivable cycles. It
reduces revenue leakage and improves cash flow.
Conclusion
The solution’s ease of incorporating with other applications allows users to work with
it seamlessly with running business applications. widen its functionalities and can still replace
it while ensuring smooth files and records migration. The solution however may require a
personnel with technical know-how to install it on premise (Bingi, Sharma, & Godla, 2009).
