INTRODUCTION Networking is considered as practice of exchanging and transfer of data and resources between computers, over the different channels in an information system. The connection between devoices could be wired or wireless. Information sharing and transferring is important for organization in effective working and goal achieving. Better communication and data transfer canimprovetheoperationefficiencyoforganization[2].Thisreportwillbeproviding information of different devices that are important for LAN and WAN networking in company. Specific type of media is suggested for organization in report and justification is provided in order to achieve good networking performance. Various LAN topology also will be discussed for company.Thisstudyisexplainingdifferentsourcesofconnectionthatareusefulfor organization. Network plan for each floor is explained in in report. Wireless network diagram for all five offices will be provided in report. Devices used in WAN network. LAN NETWORKING DESIGN FOR HEAD OFFICE Devices that are Required for LAN There are three departments in the organization building which are respectively situated on the three different floor of company head office. The IT department is located on the first floor of company and it is consisting of 30 workstations [1]. For Marketing and sales respective number of workstations are 15 and 50 and consecutively situated on second and third floor of building. For LAN and wireless connection organization need different devices that are- Server-It is a computer program or service that is used to provide functionality to other software or devices. In the complex networking structure, it is difficult to manage all the data that is flowing from devices to devices. For better handling of data each floor of need an interconnected server network that can help the departments to manage the data and operations. Router-It is a device that used to forward the data packets along networks and connected on the connection points of two or more than two networks. Routers are used to find the best possible path way to forward data packets to systems. Number of routers required on each floor depends on the number of work stations on the floor [5]. Hub-It is networking device that is used to allow multiple devices on one connection. Through this device multiple workstations are connected to the LAN server for information and data transfer. 3
WAP-Wireless access point is a hardware device that is used to provide connection to Wi-Fi devices to a wired network. These devices are connected to wired network and provide access of data and information to various devices that are present on the floor. Networking Media There are two types of networking media can be used for the LAN network in organization which are wired or wireless. As per the case study organization need both type of connection for their head office [1]. For this organization can use specific devices like router to provide both wired and wireless connection to workstations. For the fixed workstations wired network can be used and for mobile and portable devices' wireless connection can be used on each floor. The wired connection provides constant and continuous high speed to system that is required for operations of company and wireless network connection will provide portability to employees. Thatโs why both type of media connections is required in head quarter of company. Network Topologies and Protocols Network Topology-The network topology that is used in the organization is Bus Topology. It is the simplest and most common used topology around world. In bus topology long single bus or a cable is used to provide connection to multiple devices. Workstations also can transfer data and information to other computers using server. Network Protocol-It is a conceptual model and set of communication protocols used for internet and similar other system networks. This is commonly known as TCP/IP. Transmission control protocol and internet protocol are foundational protocols for network. For organization Internet Protocol is used for better security and efficient data transfer. Internet Access Provider Modem is the device that can be used by organization to access internet. Various routers in the organization can be connected to modem to provide network access to workstations [3]. There are multiple ports are presents in the modem which can allow different devices to access internet and company data base. 4

WAN DESIGN FOR ORGANIZATION Sketch Diagram for WAN Figure-WAN Diagram for Organization Devices that are Used in WAN Network TherearedifferentdevicesthatareusedintheWANnetworktomaintainthe communication between headquarter and branch offices [3]. Main devices that are basically required for WAN network are Modem, Router, CSU/DSU, Access server, WAN switch and Core Router. Modem-Modem allows the employees to send data in analogue for long distance transmission. In this process digital data is converted in analogue form. CSU/DSU-ChannelService unit/ Data serviceUnit areused in the WANnetwork for monitoring clocking and frame synchronization on line. Also, the errors in the network can be detected by system. Access Server-This server is consisting of digital and analogue interface and help multiple user at same time to access internet and data on the cloud and company server. 6
Router-Router can is used in the network to make link between the LAN and Wan of company to allow the employees of one office to make direct communication with other branch offices. Core Router-Core router is used to operate multiple telecommunication interface with high speed to maintain efficient communication and data transfer between offices. Type of Media Used for WAN In order to maintain communication between offices of company wireless media is used because the offices of organization are located on different locations in Australia. This is not economical for organization to use wired WAN connection. Also, in wired connection chances of error and damage are high. So, wireless media is much better option for organization. Suitable Network Structure For the long-distance communication and data transfer Packet switched structure is most suitable because in circuit type network structure organization needs point to point connection between companies which is physical difficult for company [4]. Also, data transfer in packets reduce the chances of complete data loss. Thatโs why packet switched network is most suitable for organization. Routing Protocol In the organization there are different routing protocols can be used. There are two options for company to select one of network for WAN and LAN connection which are RIP and OSPF. As per the speed, Summarization and multi address use OSPF is better option for company to set up networking for communication and information transfer. OSPF is most efficient for large size network. Summary This report is concluding the importance of various networking technology for business organization. Detailed information of LAN network has been provided for interdepartmental communication and information transfer. Various network topology and protocols has been analysed to implement in company. For the communication between different company branch offices and head office has been analysed to achieve better communication for high company performance. Types of network structure and protocols has been recommended in study. 7
