Project Scope
The report has been used for the description of the network design created for the
hospital. The main aim of the project is establishment of the network according to the
requirements stated by the clients and also establishment of the efficient connectivity across
the whole network. The report provides the details of the network topology to be used for the
organization and also the details of the configurations used in the network.
Project hardware
For the development of the project various type of hardware are required and this
hardware are to be set up according to the requirement of the organization. The main
hardware requirements as stated by the organization are:
3 servers and 20 network points which would be used for spreading the network throughout
the building.
Hence, there would be requirement of CAT 5 cables for the connection from the machines in
the network.

In addition to this, there are a number of PC which are to be added to the in the
network. The system should be configured with intel i5 processors, 4 GB of RAM and 1 GB
of graphics memory would be enough for the PCs. The PCs would be running on the
Windows Operating System.
Network topology
The network topology has been set up for the organization according to the details
provided by them. It has been informed that the buildings are located 500 meters apart from
each other however both the buildings have the similar structure that would be 10 rooms each
of the floors and 5 wards for the patients where a PC each has to be attached. Additionally, it
has been informed that there are three buildings with identical configurations where the each
of the rooms would be having at least 2 points for the connection to the network. In addition
to this, each of the ward in the hospital should be having around three network access points
which would enable them to get connected to the network. Among the three buildings a
building is to be selected where the sever room is to be maintained and this room would be
consisting of three server machines. The server room should be having around 20 ports of the
network to be connected to the servers and the PC which have been installed in the system.
The internet is also to be made available in the system and the internet connection is to be
spread throughout the network.

Network device configurations
The network is to be configured according to the requirements provided by the
organization, hence the system which have been installed in the network and the addressing is
to be done accordingly which would be helpful for the whole network to connect with the
device and gain access to the network and the internet services running in the network.
a. Switch configuration
The switch is a very important device in the network. It is used for the connection of the
