1. PM Leadership
The entire situation is needed to be analysed from the perspective of both Jim and Bob.
The leadership styles portrayed by Jim and Bob in discussed below [7].
1.1. Project Management Leadership by Bob
Bob has been working in the firm for 25 years and therefore is quite experienced about
the working needs of the firm. The owner and the workers of the firm have complete trust in Bob
because of his effective decision making power and the ability to organize a project work
efficiently. To keep the carpenters engaged with the project and to motivate them, Bob decided
to send the carpenter to his home for doing some work there. It is a form of transformational
leadership that aims at keeping the workers, and the team members motivated [6]. However, the
decision of paying those carpenters from the construction cost may not be ethical.
1.2. Project Management Leadership by Jim
Jim is new to the firm and therefore does not have much knowledge about the working
process and procedure of the firm. Jim found the whole situation wrong and yet didn’t take any
serious action. This is because he was new to the firm and the workers of the firm were quite
confident about the organizing ability of Bob. Therefore, Jim had shown situational leadership in
this case [8].
2. PM Execution
After proper analysis of the situation, it is found out that the project execution was not
smooth mainly because the project plan did not consider the possibility of the winter rain. Since
this is not new to rain in spring and winter, it was necessary to plan the project accordingly.

risk mitigation approach, the risk could have transferred to a contractor who would have been
hired for providing all the furnishing works. Furthermore, the carpenters could have been
negotiated about payment in instalments according to the work progress and not on a daily basis.
This could have saved the project manager in paying the carpenters for absolutely doing nothing
in the rainy days.

The main ethical implication or dilemma associated with this situation is to analyse
whether it is right for Bob to engage the carpenters for his personal work and paying them from
