English1 The above mentioned essay highlights the details of the punishment given to an Ohio women for burying her new born baby. The analysis is based on whether the punishment was fair or if the lady didn’t deserve it. The 20-year-old Ohio woman explained her child was stillborn but the police insisted that she wanted to maintain her perfect life and so killed the baby on the midnight she was born. Teen, named Richardson skylar was acquitted for killing her baby on the midnight when she was born and the cops alleged that she burned the corpse alive and then buried her in her family backward. The cops came to know about the whole incident after her gynaecologist complained that she came to the clinic alone claiming that the child was stillborn and started crying. It was almost after two months after the birth of the girl that Skylar was condemned by the law for three years of basic supervision but was asked to spend no more time in jail (Shammas., and Flynn 2019). As part of the condemnation, Brooke Skylar Richardson, an Ohio woman, a great cheerleader, aged 20, was asked to spend 7 days in the county jail by judge Warren County Judge Donald Oda II. If she violated any terms of her regulation, she could also face up to 12 months of jail time which was announced by the judge. Skylar felt guilty about her crime and apologised that what she did was wrong and that she will be sorry forever. All her relatives and especially her mother was very upset with her brutal act and said that she really wanted to hold her first grandchild her hand. Skylar says that she was in a healthy relationship with her boyfriend and it was not until her prom night when she visited a gynaecologist that she came to know about her pregnancy, but it was not her recent boyfriend instead the one with whom she had already ended things last summer. The prosecutors said they did not know how the new born baby was slaughtered. However, defence attorneys said the baby girl was born lifeless pale at the time delivery. She was not breathing. Richardson’s mother, Kim, told the Enquirer that Skylar wept as she held the baby for hours in her arms, waiting for the baby to open her eyes or cry or move but the baby did not perform any movement(Karimi, 2019). In the light of the above mentioned data I believe that there are no intact and clear proof to prove that the child was born alive or not but as per my opinion what Skylar did to her new-born child was brutal and on every situation a legal crime. According to me, even if we agree to the fact that the child was stillborn and that she cried over her or was in emotional trauma, still burying her
English2 child without the knowledge of anybody makes a perfect suspect of what the cops alleged that she even burned the corpse before burying it. She was a teenager, and what we get from the reports that she was obsessed about being in perfect shape (Awford 2019). Yet another point to be considered is that she was not in contact with the father of the baby which would have made her vulnerable. All these facts make a clear cycle of reasons that would have forced her to initiate the crime. But even if we consider the fact that she did not commit this crime, she is still held guilty for hiding the fact that she buried her child on the family backward, even from her mother. Some reports say that the very next day of the crime she went to the gym and texted her mother that now she will get the slim belly back ad will never repeat the mistake of becoming fat again or neglect her body. This text states that she was not much on pain or sorrow over the death of her child ad her body was all she cared about at the time. Also the fact that after the judgement was passed she did not say anything in her defence makes her look guilty. Richardson was facing life in prison, but she was recently acquitted and sentenced to only three years of basic supervision. As per my opinion the decision on her case was fair. She got what she deserved and spent a good amount of time in prison. I totally agree to the fact that she was guilty of hiding what she did and it was offensive by law but in the end we can testify by all the arguments given in her favour that she was sorry about what she did and that she spent much time in prison to bear the fruits of her crime.
