ENGINEERING, EDUCATION AND ENVIRONMENT PROGRAM
The EGBC wishes to announce a new program known as Engineering, Education and
the Environment. This program is a partnership between Environment and Climate Change
Canada and the EGBC who are also the bodies behind the funding of the program.
This program will give FIVE first year students an opportunity to pursue engineering in
a British Colombia University together with a FOUR months internship at engineering firm
focusing on environment and sustainability. Formal application should be submitted online
through https://www.egbc.ca/internship or www.apeg.bc.ca/studentinternship. A transcripts from
university studies in 2019 together with a 500-word essay entitled, “Why I want to become an
environmental engineer in British Columbia” should be included in application and submitted by
1st January 2020 since internship program begin in May 2020. EGBC vision is to sustain the
needs of present without compromising future generations’ ability to meet needs. This is the
reason why students should apply.
As Honorable Catherine McKenna once said, “The Government of Canada is pleased to
be supporting this program for young Canadians.” She continues, “Students are tomorrow’s
leaders and have much to contribute to the welfare of Canada and the environment.” This is the
reason that we should be focusing on engineering and environmental programs.
