INTRODUCTION This study is based on the nuclear power plant which are used to produce electrical energy. There are many countries considering it as one of the best way to generate energy at lower cost with low operation cost and less pollution. Along with these there are some challenges and concerns associated with these technology. This report is providing brief of nuclear power plant as source of electrical energy. MAIN BODY According to World Nuclear Association there are 70 new nuclear power plants are under construction process (Anderson R.,Nuclear power: Energy for the future or relic of the past?. 2015). Due to low operation cost of nuclear power plant this is considered as technology of future. Many countries are supporting these technology but countries like Italy are not interested in nuclear technology due to the safety concerns that are related to the nuclear technology. the countries like Belgium is leading the nuclear technology with neighbours. Germany is effectively dealing with these technology and trying to effectively run all its nuclear plant by year 2022. The people of Italy are not supporting this technology due to the danger associated with the nuclear power plants. The scenario of Nuclear power plant is very different in European region andUnitedStates.Themainissueassociatedwiththenucleartechnologyisaboutthe manufacturingcostofnuclearpowerplantwhichistoohigh(ChuS.andMajumdar S.,Opportunities and Challenges for a Sustainable Energy Future. 2012). In United Kingdom after long efforts UK government has managed to make EDF ready to invest in nuclear power plant. The issues are also faced by government of Finland due to high cost of nuclear power plant which is more than their expectation. The initial cost of the nuclear power plant is too high but as these plants come in operation, the cost of operation is very low as compared to other power plants. CONCLUSION This study is concluding over view of nuclear power plant in the production of energy in terms of saving major operation cost in process. Both positive and negative aspects of nuclear technology has been provided in the report. 3
