Q4: What was the population / clinical setting and sample size for the study? 1 Answer: In this paper, the methodology described is descriptive and cross-sectional. The descriptive methodology was used to provide simple summaries in regards to the sample while cross-sectional methodology was used because the nurses share the same characteristics even though they differ in variable of interest. Details: Answer: This study used postal questionnaires and surveys which were personally addressed to each nurse while accompanied with a personalized introductory letter. Answer: This research used descriptive data analysis since it did not give the rationale behind the absolute numbers. Answer: In this research, the sample consisted of 88 registered nurses who were either working as either full time or part time in a forensic mental health hospital in UK. These nurses were on a permanent hospital contract. The sample size obtained was 47 nurses from the targeted population.

It was also determined that lack of research skills and lack of awareness are contributing barriers to research utilisation. According to Breimaier, Halfens and Lohrmann (2011), the implementation of research findings into practise are hindered by attitudes, wishes, lack of knowledge and guidance among the nurses. Additionally, the researches recognized that the unwillingness to try out new ideas as well as a feeling of isolation were contributing barriers.
