INTRODUCTION
Physical health is associated with mental health. If physical health is not good, it
increases risk of mental health. Mental health also shows negative impact on physical health.
Mental health affects physical health such as high risk of heart disease and respiratory disease.
The lifestyle influence the condition of physical and mental health. Now these days, increasing
problems related to mental health due to stress and depression, overthinking. The high rate of
mental illness in old age due to unhealthy lifestyle. So there is need of health professionals who
engage with patients until they recover from disease (Rogers and et. al., 2016). In given context,
Janice studying in nursing and want to work in the care unit to serve for unwell person. Samprit
also studying in nursing and he want to work in emergency department to take quick decision
and save lives. But they don't understand what is career in mental health nursing.
Now these days, mental health is a major issue in society. Mental illness occur due to
many reasons like lack of love and care, no support of family, not getting proper sources to
survive in society, unemployment and no housing facilities. All these also create social
discrimination towards a mental ill patients and hinder their rights. Due to this patients not able
to survive freely in society. Mental illnesses affect 19% of adults, 46 % teenagers and 13% of
children each year. Only half of them get proper treatment due to social stigma attach to mental
health. A mental illness is a disorder of brain that causes disturbances in thinking, behaviour and
emotional. Due to this hard to manage a better life. Social stigma for mental illness due to lack of
education.

Mental health and mental illness knowledge is essential. Most people with mental illness
have been suffering from other physical conditions. Currently, rising cases reduce the life
expectancy of the world's population. Thus, more attention must be needed to overcome
increasing cases of mental illness. There are some weak points in mental health care department
such as mental illness persons get neglected in medical facilities. This neglect has played a part
in prolonged illnesses (Rogers and et. al., 2016). So it is the responsibilities of nursing students
to know about mental illness. Students need to make them skill person in this field to face and
