Dear Nurse Unit Manager,
Subject: Application for Registered Nurse Early Graduate Program
I reviewed your advertisement for the position of Registered Nurse at Summer Health,
and I would like to show my enthusiasm and efficacy for this specific role. I am a B.S nursing
degree holder from Monash University and am highly interested in registering myself for the
early nurse graduate program if I get a chance.
My passion for nursing and my eagerness to work hard to gain a more realistic insight into
hospital care helped me to develop my soft skills like teamwork, humility, critical thinking,
communication, ethics and problem solving, attention to detail, learning passion and
endurance. Additionally, my hard skills which include clinical practice, am wound treatment,
report-keeping, medical management, budgeting, hospital management, phlebotomy, care and
discharge preparation and record-keeping, helped me justify my role and gain high-quality
patient outcomes. My course work during my graduation days focused on acute care nursing,
critical care nursing, aged care nursing, critical care nursing, and palliative care. I have
leadership and management skills and I successfully applied my acquired expertise in my job
during my internship days. During my internship at Cabrini Nursing Home as an AIN, I
engaged myself in providing efficient and effective care to the patient with a serious disease
and patients with a mental disorder. At Cabrini Nursing Home, I have achieved more than
60% patient satisfaction and around 90% positive preceptor evaluation. I took part in critical
thinking exercises and was able to determine effectively within a person-centered context,
thus improving my structured approach and improving the standard of nursing practice. The
character certificate reflects the actions in the healthcare industry with my bosses, employees
and patients. The experience of reading journals, research papers helped me a lot to learn
about emerging technology and helped me get to know NMBA Standards.

Key Selection Criteria
During my internship days, every day was a challenge for me as I have to deal with
patients with different medical conditions. During my clinical rotation, I was appointed to
take care of 2 children with a mental disorder, 4 patients with obesity, 5 diabetic patient and
2 patients who recently have undergone minor surgery.
Patient-focused approach
I actively engaged myself in a therapeutic relationship with the patients to instill their
trust. The patients with obesity need assistance in their work as they are unable to move and
the children with mental disorders need special attention as they fail to understand things
easily. Therefore, I documented all the medical and functional history of all the patients and
utilized my communication skills like active listening, engaging the patients in decision
making, respecting their ideas, supporting them and giving patient feelings a priority. This
approach helped me to follow NMBA Standard 1 as well as Standard 2.
My job was to deal with the situation, so I first evaluated the situation, examined and used the
best evidence-based approach possible. In an ethical context, the application of strategy and
critical thinking established my approach to patient care. I administered and prioritized the
workload according to the condition of the patient and recorded the RN.
A positive approach to ongoing self-education and skill development
As per Standard 6 and Standard 7, I engrossed myself in providing safe and quality
care from my bachelor days. I keep myself updated with the recent technologies and read
research papers and journals and extract the knowledge to incorporate those to enhance the
health service. While working with the Cabrini Nursing Home, I demonstrated my expertise
after assessing the situation by providing prompt assistance to the patient and incorporated
new technology to deliver evidence-based nursing care. I consulted with an RN about my
ideas and cultured my analytical skills and critical thinking power before applying to the
