Proving services by the Aged care centre a nurse’s are considered as professional services
as well as it is considered that these nurses know how to handle each and every situation in
effective and successfully manner so that patient feel comfortable (Carl and et. al. 2020). The
respective report is based on a graduate registered nurse (GRN) at the aged care facility who gets

So nurse ask for the nurse who take care of respective patient today and she pushes out away.
The patient lady son arrive and asked with the nurse who is treating lady in evening that what
happen but at that time she didn’t know anything. The main aim of developing this report is to
understand situation and identify effectiveness of communication at healthcare sector.
MAIN BODY
Provide an analysis of the chosen scenario showing where there is ineffective communication
between the nurse and patient.
In every industry communication is necessary because through that one person can
understand others perspective properly as well as that will also ensuring that they are satisfied
and understanding each other. in respect of nursing industry it is essential for all nurses, doctor,
patient and their family to make effective communication so that they can understand situation
properly which help nurses as well as doctors in performing their duties effectively (Cho and et.
al. 2020). In respect of case study which is given is related to the graduate registered nurse
(GRN) and she is appointed to provide case to Mrs. Pamela Jones who is 78 years old and she is
experiencing issues that is related to disorientation as well as confusion in different specially in
determining beds. GRN is allotted for the evening and night shift and when she is performing
their duty to assess respective lady she started frustrated, so in order to understand case GRN
asked for the morning nurse so that they can treat patient accordingly and effectively. But at the
same time Mrs. Jones son came and ask GRN what happen, my mother didn’t look this much not
before and so on. Due to this situation GRN feel discomfort able as well as her confident get
decrease. So by respective case it is determined that there is ineffective communication among

situation that why his mother feel sad due to this GRN also feel bad that patient son questioned
their talent, skills and abilities. So it is said that always conduct effective communication at
everyplace so that no one will fell.
Explain the concept of care that is relevant to the chosen scenario and how it contributes to
achieving effective therapeutic communication.
The concept of care consist of five epistemological perspective i.e. caring as a human
state, caring as an interpersonal relationship, caring as a moral imperative or idea and last is
caring as nursing intervention (Chulay and et. al. 2020). These all concept of care plays major
role in understanding scenario as well as developing strategies accordingly so that patient will
treated properly for the attainment of desire outcome of providing services. In respect of
respective case study which is based on situation of graduate registered nurse (GRN) who is
appointed to take care of Mrs. Pamela Jones who is 78 years old as well as she is facing health
issues related to confusion as well as disorientation in facilities specially in determining bed. The
GRN is appointed to take care at evening and night, when she is conducting its duty and
accessing Mrs. Jones she started feeling frustrated and sad. At that time GRN asked for the
morning shift nurse so that she can tell her detail about the whole day activities as well as
behaviour. But at the same time patient son came and ask questions to the GRN nurse Are you
the nurse?, What has happened? I have not seen her this upset before? Due to these questions
moral and confidence of GRN get impacted and their service quality gets affected (Verklan,
Walden and Forest, 2020). So in this respect caring as nursing intervention may be implemented.
This is so because through it patient family members get to know the rules, regulation and
policies which need to follow when a nurse or any medical professional is performing their job.
Explain the strategies, skills and approaches that best support therapeutic communication
between the nurse, patient and family in the chosen scenario for best patient outcomes.
In order to get better result it is essential for each and every person to conduct effective
communication so that every person able to understand situation, aspects and factors in effective
manner which leads to attainment of desire goal successfully (Huber and et. al. 2020). Moreover,
in respect of nursing or health care sector it is essential to develop effective communication
among the nurses, doctors. Patient and family as that will help in developing effective
environment which motivate doctors as well as patient effectively. In respect of respective case

in which patient Mrs. Pamela Jones son not talk to nurse in appropriate manner as he directly
asked to nurse Are you the nurse?, What has happened? I have not seen her this upset before?,
According to this son of patient is complaining about the facilities as well as services which is
provided by nurse (Huber and et. al. 2020). In order to avoid this types of situation there are
several strategies such as before appointing nurse aged care agencies need to conduct interaction
or interview with the family and patient so when they are ensure as well as comfortable with the
nurse knowledge and skill then only they are allow to treat patient. Moreover, it must be rule and
policy that patient family members will not talk to nurses badly while she is doing their duty in
any situation because they get distracted which impact on services. In addition to, it is essential
that nurses are provided to proper training so that they can handle each and every situation which
may relate to patient as well as patient’s family.
Reflect on your emerging health literacy skills relative to the case study.
Health literacy is considered as usage of different skills which enhance the abilities of
people so that they can act on information properly in order to live healthy and effective life.
These skills will include reading, writing, speaking, listening, critical analysis, numeracy,
interaction and many more (Mandal, Seethalakshmi and Rajendrababu, 2020). For a nurse who is
conducting its practices or duties in health and social care need to have these skills so that they
can perform their duties in effective manner. According to the case which is given is related to
the graduate registered nurse who is taking care of 78 years old lady named Mrs. Pamela Jones,
she is experiencing issues related to confusion and disorientation in facilities specially in finding
beds. The nurse is allotted to take case at evening and night so while she is performing per duty
Mrs. Jones get frustrated and feel sad so she asks for morning nurse but at the same time Patient
son came and ask GRN about the situation. According to me, I have specific health literacy skill
through which I can handle situation properly such as I will make their son understand that she is
feeling upset and frustrated so for consulting about the situation I have called morning nurse as
through that I can understand situation. I also have effective listening as well as interaction skills
which help me in make their son understand that I can handle situation properly just we need
time so that I can consult with morning nurse properly and further I can start conducting nursing
practices accordingly. this show that I have effective health literacy skills which help me in
conducting my work properly as well as that skills also help me in making other understand that
their patient is safe and treated properly.
