Introduction
Clinical reasoning is a holistic approach used extensively in the healthcare system in order to
obtain proper treatment procedure. With the help of clinical reasoning, registered nurses and
midwives collect signs, symptoms, understand the medical condition of the patient to evaluate
the exact medical treatment methods. Clinical reasoning helps to make appropriate decisions
about the medical treatment procedures for the recovery of the patient. Inappropriate clinical
reasoning may create confusion in the diagnosis of the disease, which may fail in proper
treatment implementation. The present study will evaluate the clinical rationale of Mrs.
Kennedy, a 56 years old patient who has been admitted with pneumonia. Analysis has been
conducted to observe the clinical changes of the patient by adopting the clinical reasoning
methodology. The study will also discuss and critically analyze the implementation of necessary
nursing care for the patient by prioritizing her chest discomfort in the account. It will also
compare the psychosocial issues with the current stage of the disease and her life situation of
Mrs. Kennedy.
Analysis
Mrs. Carole Kennedy was admitted to the hospital for two days with pneumonia. When assessing
her medical condition after 30 minutes of the previous assessment, some changes have been
observed related to her physical health. It has been observed that Mrs. Kennedy was little
diaphoretic. Diaphoresis indicates heavy sweating without any definite reason(Fletcher &
Weatherspoon, 2019). According to the articles of medical diagnosis, hypertension may
