Purpose/aim of developing e-portfolio
The primary purpose of developing an ePortfolio is to record or store the artifacts concerning
knowledge of different individuals. It helps in facilitating the learning process and reflection is
considered to be the key towards the execution of nursing tasks (Birks, Hartin, Woods,
Emmanuel & Hitchins, 2016). The aim of developing a portfolio is to provide support to the
learning process by offering a secure record of the concerned appraisal discussions and reflection
on the clinical along with other learning events.
Identification of the ePortfolio platform that they will utilize
The selection of the right ePortfolio platform is of great importance as it helps in evaluating the
successful growth of the concerned person along with the organization (Collins & O'Brien,
2018). I want to be a Nurse practitioner, and for this, I have relevant experience as a staff nurse
from India from 12th February 2012 to 26th July 2018. The platform will help in providing all
the materials required for the execution of the work procedures such as the internet, CD-ROM,
DVD, files with different formats, writing samples, and various projects. The platform will also
provide the digital evidence on my education, experience, and capabilities.
Materials/artifacts that will be collected/prepared
An artifact can be anything that provides evidence of the desired education and experiences. Few
of the materials that will be in the role of the nurses in specimen collection are ensuring
appropriate samples, identifying samples and patient interaction. There will be materials and
artifacts like human-made objects reflecting both professional and the workplace characteristics
like the values, myths, and norms. The collection of knowledge regarding symbols, rituals will
help in boosting the overall development of the nursing career. There are four crucial artifacts
that I will consider, these are my acceptance letter, my watch as it is a vital asset for nurses, CPR
C certification and proof of my flu shot vaccination (Haggerty & Thompson, 2017).
