Question 1
NMBA standards governing nursing practice
As per Nursing and Midwifery board of Australia (NMBA) , patients need to be attended
with specific precautionary measures where professional nursing practice should be practically
used for handling patients. While attending situations, related to handling patient suffering from
chest pain and confused patient trying to climb out of bed I will use my professional nursing
skills to conduct immediate assessment of situation.
 As per NMBA standard 3.2, I will make immediate medical arrangements to do ECG,
where taking responsibility and accountability will be foremost priority (Professional
standards, 2021).
 Taking Chest X- RAY, for examining heart, lungs and blood vessels conditions is crucial
for appropriate attention towards patient where I will conduct proper medical check-up
accurately.
 Furthermore, I will make immediate nursing plan for practicing specific prerequisites as
per patient suffering from chest pain to keep him calm and relaxed.
 As per standard 3.7, taking supervision from medical professional expert and
multidisciplinary healthcare team will be next immediate step, and further consult senior
doctors regarding details of patients so that better treatment can be provided.

 Another confused patient, which is trying to climb out of bed need to be relaxed where I
will try to provide best facilities to patient and make him feel comfortable and relaxed.
Handling stress among patients holds my specific priority, to treat them effectively as per
medical conditions requirements for better evolving synergy and connective strengthened
abilities (The NMBA Registered Nurse Standards for Practice, 2016).
 Ethical principles will be adhered which are correlated as principle of justice, autonomy,
fidelity within the NMBA standards among nurses for attaining patient situation
assessment accurately.
 My expertise will be correlated towards taking specific body check- ups done accurately
for engaging them confidently and take hold of situation relax fully.
 Taking frequent feedbacks and reviews form patients, will also make sure that medical
conditions are under check for strengthened abilities within nursing practices.
 I will also make sure that as nurse within cardiac unit, there is also evolvement done of
best hygienic practices for all patients to keep them comfortable.
Question 2
Compilation of occupational health and safety standards
Nurses have to comply with occupational health and safety standards, where I have deal
with unsafe situation while during my regular assessment visit to patient where proper sanitation
and facilities were not taken care of.
 As per NMBA standard 3, which is preventing and controlling healthcare associated
infection standard, clinical leaders and managers in health services implement systems
for prevention of infections.
 It is the responsibility of nurses to make sure of hygiene practices when giving treatment
to patients and sterilization, sanitation for maintaining health and safety standards to
attain optimum efficacy.
 The healthcare settings among patients were not done properly in ward by nurses, where
due to close proximity and interactions among nurses with patients there was risk of
spread among pathogenic infectious diseases.

In hospital, at the time of checkup assessment of patient, nurses were not paying attention due to
lack of clinical practices. Standard 3, makes sure policy and procedures of accurate safety
practices in healthcare associated infections are followed (Walton-Roberts, 2021).
Occupational health and safety practices among nurses plays strong role, where hygienic
maintenance should be strictly followed in medical setups for abiding to safety practices for
longer efficiency among patient’s treatments.
 I felt unsafe due to this situation, where there is risk of virus spread around which made
me unsure of future working goals.
 Future actions which I had taken immediately were that I reported negligence of safety
and hygiene measures, where NMBA measures are crucial to be followed in hospital.
 The supervision done in hospital has to be monitored as per specific standards, which
leverages focus on maintaining standards measured accurately along with synchronized
working aspects.
 I made sure that sterilization for prevention of infection spread, control and surveillance
is done among hospitals for optimum control of healthcare standards.
Managing patients should be done in safe, hygiene and proper healthcare facilities done to ensure
that there is evolvement of best cleanliness practices among nurses. I made sure that sanitization
practices are followed form that incident period, where my main focus on to evolve towards best
medical and healthcare standards practices within wards in hospital (Chen and et.al, 2020).
Question 3
Short term and long term career plan
Future short term and long term career plans and commitment to professional
development holds high scale importance within professional progressive aspects in nursing
field, where practically I have high scope.
My short term plans are to integrate new experiences functionally, generate experienced
specialization of varied medical cases and attending my responsibilities effectively in proper
structured format. Within 6 months’ time basis my targets are correlated to work towards
learning, critical thinking and problem solving, professionalism empathy and conflict resolution.

Attending towards my responsibilities with smart decisions, medical nursing knowledge and
professional integrity for larger confident growth goals expansion in my career development.
 I also aim to be specific and determined towards my responsibilities for larger working
horizons by studying specialized courses.
 Furthermore, I also aim to strengthen up my medical treatment knowledge functionally,
evolve on rapidly within learning and autonomy and take complicated cases also.
 My expertise for solving critical cases in career also evolves significance to handle
situations with less stress and expertise aspects, where I further aim to gain practical
knowledge of various standards (Perry and et.al, 2021).
The long term goals are related to M.Sc. in Nursing specialization, where critical cases
knowledge and medical properties holds high importance for attaining professional benchmarks.
Also taking up new courses, will diversify my synergies to assess patients with specialized
treatments and medical facilities. By learning course in nursing specialization, my decisions and
integrity to further handle medical emergence among patients will be more diversified. The
standards of NMBA will further enhance functional efficacy competitively, by deriving high
confident growth in new learning targets actively and also operatively head on with strong
confidence. Within long term career plan, I also aim to work in best hospitals with professional
doctors of varied fields to gain experience and enlarge my skills practically for stronger effective
growth.
