of care and participation in health care is known as
nursing leadership.

Clara Barton
A pioneering American nurse and founder of
American Red Cross, Clarissa Harlowe
Barton is my preceptor. Her humanitarian
work and civil rights advocacy makes her
one of the eminent leaders. Few leadership
qualities for which she is my preceptor are:
• Authoritarianism
• Bravery
• Persistence
• Negotiator
• Powerful politician
• American Legend
• Determination

Transformation Leadership
The hard work and bravery of Clarissa Harlowe
Barton, immensely inspire, motivates and
encourage us (Avolio and Yammarino, 2013).
The way she showed bravery in the battlefield of
Civil War. Her persistence quality of not leaving
the battle field and achieving her goal is truly
inspirational. Also how she self-taught nursing
shows her dedication towards career.

American Red Cross
• Humanitarian organization (Egan and
Pravongviengkham, 2016)
• Supports and supplies assistance to emergency, disaster
preparedness education and relief, blood services, training
services, international services and services to armed
force in United States of America (Quan et al., 2015)
• Founded by Clarissa Harlowe Barton, in Washington
D.C., in 1881
• Served as president till 1904

Outcome

With the help of transformational leadership qualities one will be able
to provide efficient medications, thus patients will be satisfied
effectively.

With proper guidance of leadership qualities one will effectively
guide patients to improved treatments, thus quality of life will be
improved.

Patients receiving excellent treatment and medication services will be
treated expertly and methodically, and will have increased dignity
towards life.

their cognitive values and systems, to motivate their
followers, to spend time with their followers, to
increase absorptive capability, to focus on
organizational learning, to increase performance
quality, to widen the knowledge sack, to apply
effective tacitness, to increase the number and size of
followers and in innovation. Thereby helping the
client effectively and efficiently.

Conclusion
With the help of transformational leadership qualities
one will be able to provide effective care and
treatment, which will help in improving the quality of
life and also help in the development of efficient and
accurate medications and treatments, which will assist
in the advancement of the organization and its
officials. Further, the leadership qualities of Clarissa
Harlowe Barton has immense inspiring effects and her
works has truly motivated us to become a powerful
organization with efficient leadership qualities.
