2NURSING PROFESSIONAL PORTFOLIO
My Profile:
I am registered in Western Sydney University as a student nurse to pursue my
Bachelor of Nursing course. As a part of the requirement of my course I will be going for a
two-week clinical placement at Eecto H C as a trainee nurse. I have my basic nursing
certificate in PCL nursing from Nepal where I have completed my pre-graduate academic
milestone with first division marks. Throughout my academic career I share a nice
relationship with the professors and lecturers of my university. I have also a strong bonding
with friends and peers. From my childhood I am known as a helpful and friendly individual. I
am very compassionate towards my family, friends and any other individual in front of me.
Because of my previous academic and professional experience I am very competent about
speaking with older adults and understanding their issues. With regard to my job
achievements, in recognition of the time I spent caring for adults with disabilities, I was
awarded the title Employee of the Month at the aged care facility where I work as an assistant
in nursing (AIN). I love to work with older people, because they have very few people to
understand their problems and to value their views. My future goal is to work in a geriatric
ward as a registered nurse. I would like to improve my skills in those attributes that could
allow me to reach my goal. I also prioritise the principles and compliances of nurses
considering their roles and responsibilities as per the code of conduct. I also highly values
the Code of Conduct that emphasizes that legally, securely and ethically practicing is a
critical requirement that all nurses must comply with (NMBA, 2018). Therefore, by
complying with mandatory rules, regulation and nursing responsibilities I will be working as
a part of nursing team with my ethics and honesty.
