An Empirical Study of Chronic Diseases in the United States: A Visual Analytics Approach to
Public Health:
The research is about determining the present state of chronic diseases in the United
States utilizing and evaluating data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and
implementing the techniques of visualization and descriptive analysis (Raghupathi&Raghupathi,
2018).
To successfully conduct the research, five main groups of articles were studied including
chronic disease, mental health, behavioral health, demographics and overarching conditions
(Raghupathi & Raghupathi, 2018).
With the prevalence in the chronic diseases, there is a significant variation noticed in the
rate of hospitalizations for particular diseases, diagnosis procedures and mortality rates for
different states. It was therefore crucial to identify the correlations in to develop intervention
strategies and minimize both the cost and risk of chronic diseases (Raghupathi&Raghupathi,
2018). The sample population included adults who were 18 years of age and above(Raghupathi
& Raghupathi, 2018).
The study has successfully analyzed the incidence of chronic diseases at both the
patient/physician and also at the national state levels. At the patient level, it was concluded that
analyzing the relationship between behavioral factors and chronic conditionsallows the patients
to actively take part in the management of their illness and also modifying or altering their
behavioral health. Therefore, it can be said that the hypothesis of the study was accepted. It has
made possible for the patients who are eager, to integrate information on heath from a range of
