Transition in scope of practice from student to registered nurse
There are large number of changes will be experienced by me when my scope and
practice will change from student to registered nurse. However, from students perspectives
clinical decision has been made with theoretical perspectives and when it comes to the duty of
registered nurse things has been changed. As per the views of Riklikiene, Karosas & Kaseliene,
(2018) registered nurse makes clinical decision after verifying the current situation of the patient.
Furthermore, the major thing that needs to be assured focus is concerned with putting the patient
at the centre so the priorities can be given to the patient. My whole scope and practices will
going to be change when I become registered nurse I have to take clinical decision within
inclusion of patient. Also, I always have support of my tutor during my student journey.
However, when I become registered nurse, I have to become my self-support as at that time I
have to use all my learning into major practices.

gathered data in order to take the evidence based practices and solution in regards of the patient.
A registered nurse focuses on performing the actual evidence based practices. However, as a
student I have learned all those things and my concepts is clear in this context. But, when it
comes to apply all this learning in practice I will experience numerous changes. When I will
become registered nurse, I will interact with the actual patient. I have to find out the actual
diagnosis of the patient. As a student I have learned all these things with the help of case studies
and assignments and often if I was wrong in analysing the current status and diagnosis of patient
my tutor was there to guide me.
However, in order to perform the role of registered nurse I have to analyse the current
and actual issues of patient with my own knowledge. The complete scenario will be different and
therefore, I have to prepare myself with complete dignity and knowledge. As stated by
Poorchangizi & et.al. (2019) registered nurse must have the qualities of understanding the patient
emotions as well as it helps in providing quality care services to the patient. Therefore, within
assuring treatment to patient it is important to implement the effective understanding with the
patient as well. As a student I can just imagine all these things however, when I become
registered nurse I have to apply all these things practically. This will ensure the effective care

SCENARIO 2
Delegation
In the current scenario the nurse is facing problem regarding the delegation of the
responsibility. It is because the shift is of early morning and the environment is not as per they
are unfamiliar to the environment and the patient. I will be adopting the Transformational
leadership as it will help me to lead the initiatives which will help in improving the practices and
the outcomes. According to the Heinen, & et.al., 2019, Nursing leadership helps the head nurse
to develop the evidence based curricula and help the other nurses adjust to the new situation.
This will help the nurses to follow up with the health policy which is beneficial for the health of
the patients as well as for the nurses. In this situation I will be helping those nurses to adjust to
the new environment and also try to incorporate the required changes in the environment to make
them feel comfortable in the organization. As per the views of Ntshingila, Downing, and
Hastings‐Tolsma, 2021, it is important for the leader to have self awareness as it will be helping
them to live their own better self with the help of reflective consciousness. This will help the

of the situation.

the norms to the relation of NMC standards. The elements are idealized influence, intellectual
simulation, inspirational motivation and individualized consideration. This will help in setting
the environment of the hospital such that it will make the other nurses comfortable while
working in any type of shift. There are various ways it will be implemented in the nursing
practice which will help the nurses to improve the quality of care provided to their patients. In
family of the patient in treatment as it helps in analysing the major information in context of
patient to their family members. However, this aspect has not been performed practically as a
student.
