INTRODUCTION
Nutrition is one of the most important things which is required in a proper and appropriate
amount by the body so that a person can remain healthy and fit (Granja and Covarrubias, 2018).
Nutritional therapy helps in evaluating that a person gets right amount of nutrition for treatment
of various kinds of diseases or conditions. This assignment will lay emphasis on a case study of
Barry Jones who is 59 years old men who is suffering from fatigue, abdominal pain etc.

Methods appropriate to use in clinical practice to track Barry going forward
There are two methods that can be used to track Barry going forward. First method is skin
fold analysis method and second is bioelectrical impedance clinical practise method. Both the
methods have their own advantages and disadvantages. Reliability and accuracy of both the
methods are different. Here, both the methods will be evaluated in order to reach to a proper
conclusion.
Skin fold analysis: It is a kind of technique in which measurement of subcutaneous fat is done
of different areas of the body. This test is done using skinfold callipers. It is not an appropriate
method to be used as reliability of this analysis is not high. In many situations it can mislead the
patient or the client of whom this test is to be done. In to increase validity of this test it is
important to choose proper and appropriate circumstances so that appropriate, reliable and
positive results can be provided to the client.
Bioelectrical impedance: it is one of the most commonly used analysis methods in which body
composition is estimated especially muscle mass and body fat. In this technique a weak electric
current flow throughout the body and voltage is measured in order to calculate body resistance.
One of the main advantages of this technique is that it is quite simple and easy to be performed,
in fact it can be performed at home as well. The only disadvantage associated with this analysis
is that it is quite expensive. Reliability and validity of this analysis completely depend upon
hydration status of a body, temperature because if the body of the patient or client is dehydrated
then the amount of fat within the client or patient will be over-estimated. Otherwise it is quite a
valid and reliable method.
Gold standard measurement is a test that helps in identifying whether the patient have a
particular disease or not. According to gold standards fat measurement accuracy methods are
considered as gold standard, other than this no other technique is considered ad gold standard
