REPORT 1
Executive Summary
The protein is considered as macronutrient. The people in larger amount for normal
functions as well as the good health require it. The protein is energy-increasing nutrient. It
provides enough calories. It is very significant to build the muscle mass. Normally, the protein is
found in the animals product. However, it is also existed in some different sources like legumes
and nuts. In this report, the composition, sources, effects of overconsumption as well as under
consumption is evaluated.

REPORT 3
Introduction
The macronutrients are considered as the nutrients, which are needed in larger amounts
that render the energy required to keep the functions of body and perform the doings of the daily
routine. The nutrients are required for the development, energy provisions, as well as other
functions of body. There are three types of macronutrients. These macronutrients include the
fats, carbohydrates, and proteins (Niu, et. al, 2016). The protein is the significant part of the
healthy diet. The protein is helpful for building as well as repairing the muscles, skeletons along
with organs. The high protein diet has also been stated to be useful with decreasing the fat,
enhancing satiety, reducing weight, feelings of completeness, as well as maintaining the muscles.
In the following parts, the composition of protein, its biological functions, dietary sources of
protein, signs, as well as the factors contributing to states of excess protein is discussed and
critically examined.
Composition of protein
The proteins are organic molecules made of Carbon, Oxygen, Nitrogen and
Hydrogen. The proteins are composed by connecting amino acids together in the protein link
named as polypeptide chains. When connected with the protein chain, the separate amino acid is
considered as the residue, and the connected series of carbon, oxygen atoms, and nitrogen are
considered as major chain or protein pillar (Monteith, et. al, 2015).The protein is the fundamental
element of living cells. Some proteins also have the fifth element namely sulfur. There are 20
amino acids of that 12 may be synthesized by human body as well as eight should be consumed
in food people eat. These eight are very considered as vital amino acids. There are three types of
