Describe the management theory (making links to theoretical literature)
The term Taylor’s Scientific Management refers to a theory of management that synthesis
and analyse the workflows. The chief objective of the theory is enhancing economic
efficiency as well as labour productivity. According to the mentioned theory, employees as
well as managers needs to corporate with each other in order to ensure a sustainable
workplace. On the basis of the Taylor’s Scientific management theory, four principles have
been formulated. The first principle includes replacing the simple habit if common sense
with scientific method for studying work as well as determining the most efficient way of
performing specific tasks (Edwards, 2018). The second principle includes worker should
be assigned job as per their capability and motivation instead of assigning the same to the
workers (Khorasani & Almasifard, 2017). The third principle includes monitoring the
performance of the worker along with providing instruction as well as supervisor for
ensuring they are working in an efficient way.
Henry Fayol’s 14 principles of management include statements based on fundamental
truth. The 14 management principles can be used for managing organizations as well as are
useful tools that help the management for forecasting, process management, planning,

organization management, decision-making, coordination as well as control. Despite the
fact that they are obvious, a good number of these matters are still used on the basis of
common sense in current managerial practices in organizations (Voxted, 2017). It is still a
practical list with focal points based on studies by Henri Fayol that still works today
because of a logical principles.
Provide evidence/examples of how you see this management theory being
implemented in your chosen Human service organisation (250 words)
Considering the fact that the aim of the Taylor’s Scientific Management is to enhance the
efficiency of the workplace by mathematical analysis, this theory is highly applicable in
nursing practice. Considering the fact that in many healthcare homes in Australia, routine
check up of patients lacks adequate efficiency, implementation of the theory will be
effective in such cases. Along with this, since the aim f the theory is to reduce the waste,
upsurge the methods and generate a just distribution of goods, it will serve the purpose of
both the nursing staffs a well as the management of the healthcare homes (Tasie, 2017).
When it comes to the 14 principles of management of Fayol, it can be implement in the
nursing practice by assigning specific workers to the nurses who are efficient to perform
the same. In a nutshell task can be assigned as per specialization. This will ensure
provision of high quality service to the heath care service users along with ensuring
effective job satisfaction of the employees (Gradel et al., 2016). The heath care managers
should be provided with effective training in order to enhance their decision making
ability. strict policies for discipline, like timely entry of the employees, mandatory washing
of hands before treating patients, eradication of grape vine culture in the workplace, needs
