INTRODUCTIONAviation industry is one of the fastest growing business in Europe. It has been facing lotof restrictions in Europe which has affected its growth. EU has ensured that there are lessbarriers for the development of aviation industry (Vourvachis and et.al., 2016). The reportfocusses on the aviation policy of UK. The national policy plays a major role in the developmentof aviation industry. Policy formulation The government of UK has laid down the objectives for the development of aviationsector in the country. It ensures that the excellent international connectivity is maintained andresources are used efficiently. The policies formulation sets up guidelines and parameters for theairport commission (Holland and Holland, 2016). It is developed by working together with theregulators, experts, industry and local communities. It is important that transparency ismaintained in the information and various processes in the industry. The government has to takedecisions as per the resources and capacity of the nation and the aviation industry. The mainobjective of the UK aviation policy is to improve the connectivity and increase the reach to theemerging markets of the world to facilitate the economic growth of the country (Turnbull, 2015).In order to achieve this, all the required resources are identified in the policy. For example, theaviation policy of UK was to develop aviation hub and links from the airports. They have beendeveloping airports in Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and England. It is for the same reasonthat UK government has established Airport Commission in 2012 (Wong and Brooks, 2015).The process of policy formulation is given by Mintzberg which begins by collecting andanalysing the data (Mintzberg, 2016). All the factors are evaluated like environment, economy,trends, competition, growth and development of the aviation industry. The next step is toformulate strategies, budgets and allocating the resources to various activities. The goals aredivided into medium and long term so as to monitor the changes in the industry. The airport inSouth East England will be facing the challenge of its capacity to hold passengers (Hu and et.al.,2015). So, the policies are best formulated at the national level because the government hasbetter idea about the resources and future of the industry.
