Introduction
The following is research report on occupational sciences. The summary of the article is
discussed, with the key issues found while reading the article. The article has thoroughly
discussed the key factors that work in relating the occupation with self-concepts. The author of
this report has explained the interaction of the occupation with the forming self-concept of
individual. After conducting the research, the author of this article has identified six dimensions
of occupation and self, while explaining the relation in them. The three elements that are focus of
this discussion is the change, which is associated with individual, are occupation as a recruiter,
servant and mirror.
Summary of the Article
The occupational science directs the knowledge of the occupation and critical trend
within the occupational characteristics. It is argued that there is a very close relation between the
occupational objects and concretely performed actions. The individual’s self-relation also affects
the location of occupation. It also counts as factor that individual’s occupation and situation are
related (Carlson et al. 2014).

Therefore, it either increases the self-esteem followed by unexpected discovery of
different talent or decreases the same (Carlson et al. 2014).

2. Occupation as life menu options is a hypothetical situation that dictates occupation to
perform subsequent course of action consecutively.
3. Repetitional flavour of occupation is such consideration that includes the doing personal
routine, personality predilection, external rewards and social rules.
Issues for the occupational therapy profession
The occupation therapists are the people who help others with mental as well as physical
problems arose due to their work. These therapists involve the people in activities that have to
involve ability to engage brain and bodily activities simultaneously to check the origin of their
problems (Durocher et al. 2014). This involves the intervention of the therapists. The client
orientation of the model is occupation focused. The issues with this profession are in embracing
the dynamic elements involved. Making decision based on the evidence, that are reviewed by the
occupational therapists and which is consistent with the Paradigms of the occupation identified
by the therapist (Lent et al. 2014). This activity that engages people’s mind, interests not only
temporarily in addition through impulsivity, is known as the effective method of treatment for
adult as well as the children (Baum and Bass-Haugen 2014).
Conclusion and Recommendation
