employees are threatened, abused or
humiliated under workplace settings.
OV is popular under mental healthcare
settings
It has significant negative
consequences on the healthcare service
delivery and overall health of the
mental health nursing professionals
(Morphet et al., 2018)

Purpose of this Presentation
The purpose of this presentation is to
elucidate:
To study the physiological impact of the
occupational violence over the mental health
nurses
To study the psychological impact of the
occupational violence over the mental health
nurses
To examine the role of the mental health
nurse manager in overcoming the
occupational violence
To recommend the strategies for bring change
in the mental health nursing management for
improving workplace experience

According to the Victorian Mental
Health Work Survey
The mental health nurses are
exposed to Verbal violence
Physical violence
Bullying and Mobbing
The Australian mental health
nurses reported that OV leads to
severe psychological distress and
also decrease the overall health
impact
(Tonso et al., 2016)
