humiliated under workplace settings.
• OV is popular under mental healthcare
settings
• It has significant negative
consequences on the healthcare service
delivery and overall health of the
mental health nursing professionals

Purpose of this Presentation
• The purpose of this presentation is to
elucidate:
• To study the physiological impact of the
occupational violence over the mental health
nurses
• To study the psychological impact of the
occupational violence over the mental health
nurses
• To examine the role of the mental health
nurse manager in overcoming the
occupational violence
• To recommend the strategies for bring change
in the mental health nursing management for
improving workplace experience

exposed to Verbal violence
• Physical violence
• Bullying and Mobbing
• The Australian mental health
nurses reported that OV leads to
severe psychological distress and
also decrease the overall health
impact
