Key topics examined in the guest session
This session included many topics such as equipment used in the kitchen, types of
cuisine offered by the hotel, variety of dishes in the menu, service of hospitality industry.
Some of them are on the basis of availability of resources and others are services such as role
of housekeeping and front office. Other than this areas such as management of online orders
and how fast it is prepared by Burger King and KFC. These are considered as the important
areas of hospitality industry. In some areas Burger King and KFC are open 24/7 due to their
high demand. In order to deal with customers there one must have to learn how to offer them
variety of dishes and serve fast as they are known for their fast preparation. (Shuai and Wu,
2020).
Importance of Requisite skills in hotel Industry
Skills which are requisite in the sector of hospitality is very important so that
employees who are dealing in this industry can manage their work with that they can take the
place of other employees who are absent. The skills required in the Burger King and KFC are
basic but important such as greeting the guest and taking care of their demands. They do not
need to have knowledge of hospitality industry. Employees just need to be provided with the
regular training so that they can perform every task in efficient way. In the training employees
are given ideas about every area so that they never face any difficulties in management. Skills
related to front office are specifically required in the food chains such as KFC, Burger King.
Impact of Session on my knowledge of hospitality industry
The session helped me to improve my knowledge about the operations and working
that needed to be maintained in the industry of hospitality. This session helped to me gave
information about things which I was not familiar of. Things which were discussed in the
session was front office, housekeeping, inventory management etc. so that guests never go
unsatisfied. I learned how burger king and KFC controls their inventory management and how
they handle the duties of front office.
Self Appraisal on understanding and Key skills required in Facility Management
Currently I am pursuing a degree in the management of hospitality sector that has
helped me to understand about the operations of hospitality and till now I have covered up all
