Introduction
The article helps in the analysis of the link between the sustainability and innovation
which has been performed in context of the higher education. This will include the different
kinds of investigation which will include the different barriers for innovation and sustainable
development in different universities in the entire world.
Literature
In the literature review, it has been mentioned that there are different types of
innovation such as operational and structural innovation. Furthermore, the authors have tried
to identify the different major strategies for the different universities to advance the
innovation in the sustainability of the education and the university campus as well. On the
other hand, the other author has commented the 4C model proposed by Jones et al. (2010) has
helped in analysing the role of the sustainable development along with innovation in culture
and community (Laszlo and Nadya).
Furthermore, the authors have tried to include the different kinds of principles in
connection with sustainability and innovation which is required in the different universities
effectively. The authors described that the first principle is relating to the ingenuity which
helps in putting forward innovation towards the larger usage and this helps in the different
developing nations. Additionally, the second principle includes the simple implementation
which includes the best kinds of innovation and this can be used as the tool to recycle papers
effectively (Schaltegger, Hansen, and Lüdeke-Freund).
The principle three includes the environmental efficiency wherein the concept of
innovation created real influence on the consumption of energy and there is reduction in the

helps in minimizing the loss of the different financial resources as well.
Methodology
The method which are being involved in the respective article includes the both
qualitative and quantitative approaches. This method is the mixture of the qualitative and
quantitative techniques by gathering more than 301 views from more than 170 continents.
Furthermore, with the help of the mixed approach, this has been analysed that there are
different barriers across the different geographical regions that will be requiring more support
from management and administration of university as this will help in improvement of the
different issues.

The main analysis in the article is relating to the different kinds of link between the
sustainability along with innovation for the higher education in different continents.
Furthermore, it has been seen that there are different kinds of barriers which are being faced
in generating sustainability in the environment and there are mainly four principles which are

the different universities which will help in including different sustainable initiatives. Lastly,
the study helps in identifying the challenges which are required to be taken seriously and
there are different anticipated benefits as well which will help in creating effective
relationship between the stakeholders from within and outside the university in an appropriate
manner.
