In order to manage the performance of workers as well as departments like operations
administration etc. organizations in recent time has utilized varied systems, technologies and
approaches. Luton Town Residence has implemented Slack system in replacement of email,
which helps to manage large volume of email sending and receiving in systematic manner.

Operations & project management deals with approaching daily and strategic venture
problems systematically and effectively. They conduct varied attempts to handle planning,
organizing, monitoring, controlling and motivating workers performance which enable a brand to
achieve set business aims. Project and operations department in order to gain desire outcome has
used varied types of information systems. The current study will be based on Luton Town
Residence, which falls under list of leading housing association in Luton, England. The study
will explain data silos term in context of LTR and internal communication analysis of company.
Furthermore, it will justify email replacement project.
MAIN BODY
Data silos in LTR
Data silo is a process of data collection for which only one person in a company is
responsible. It is not fully or easily acceptable by other groups in organizations (Liu and et.al.,
2020). It may outcomes from many factors such as cultural; animosity or rivalry between two or
more departments may cause those workers to keep data from each other more than working
together. It impacts management practices and stakeholders performance in two different
manners such as positive and negative.
Loutob Town Residence is the best housing association in the England, they provide
accommodation services to single young people, mothers and other people in term of offering
hostel rooms and transitional flats (Schneider, 2020). Firm adopt data silos concept to protect its
services users from any major issues which may impact their physical and mental health in
negative manner. Company has adopted this technique and implement in entire business
practices in term of divided departments for supported and general purpose housing. LTR
divided the accountable to each department in context of protecting and preventing younger
people and mothers personal data from each other.
Within organization, each group is responsible to use separate system to track and protect
information within functional areas. For example, facilities maintenance team utilized 360 cloud
based system to manage their facilities in systematic and appropriate manner. Furthermore, just
like this section, consumer services team is also responsible to keep data for each of four housing

other, which define the implication of data silos term.
Data silos happen naturally over duration and stem from situations common to most
ventures like LTR where management decided to divide responsibilities varied departments and
suggest them to do not share access of business or information systems with each other (Bento,
Tagliabue and Lorenzo, 2020). This term is quite beneficial for Luton Town Residences in term
of protection significant information about its customers from being taken by other people and
may use to conduct unethical practices, which may impact their physical health in negative
manner.

The process of data silos is beneficial for company in varied terms, but on the other hand,
it impacts in negative manner upon productivity, performance and decision-making activity of
different departments. The major drawback of data silo use in firm is it limit the view of data,
which two or more departments may share with each other because of similar work or role. For
instance, customer services team and facilities maintenance group is accountable to manage
everything relate to its buyer, but still they face issue to use data because of data silo concept
implications according to that both sections are unable to share information about consumers
with each other and also relate to facilities which company may plan to offer to people who stay
in four housing blocks.
It can be said that silos prevent relevant information from being shared, which in some
situations are important to share. Each section's analysis is limited by its own views that impact
customer satisfactory level in negative manner (Li and et.al., 2021). When consumer service
team is unable to use data about each buyer which facilities maintenance team collect, it affects
negatively upon the process of consumer satisfaction. Without using the data, customer service
department may not be able to provide their facilities according to the needs and expectations of
younger people as well as mothers who stay on housing blocks.
Along with benefits, usage of data silos within organization may impact the productivity
and operational efficiency of its business (Lücking and et.al., 2020). For example, it discourages
collaborative work and decrease the productive nature of employees, which is not acceptable and
